The mindset of most, inclusive of my own generation generally, is absolutely astounding.

Growing up I distinctly recall all of the mandatory vaccinations that were required to be completed for each and every child attending public schools. I also recall the fact that if your child was not vaccinated as required, the child would not be allowed to go to school. Period.

Moreover, my parents, like the overwhelming majority of parents, made sure I got my "shots" so I could go to school. They did not necessarily like it, but complied because it was required and because it served the best interests of the nation as a whole. Polio, mumps, etc.

I also know that the development timeline for vaccines in the 50s, 60s was extremely long and arduous surrounding the requirements to obtain approval. Back then and before.

The science and methodology as well as the technology of those times were each limiting factors surrounding the time it took to get a vaccine FDA approved. And when each of them achieved that milestone the "mandates" surrounding getting those vaccinations followed forthwith.

For decades this nation and the world enjoyed a very long period of peace surrounding diseases needing a vaccine to gate the condition it was created to address. And in that time technology, science, both advanced well beyond the capabilities present back in the late 1800's and the 30's 40's , right through to the new millennium within which we currently live.

Those advances have served to shorten the timeline for development of new vaccines exponentially. And have served to ensure the safety of those same newly created vaccines for humankind. But people fail to consider any of it because the propaganda and "fake news" being liberally peppered within society do not mention it. Ever.

And any politician that begins their statement with, "what the American people want" is a bald faced liar. Why? Because not a single one of them has spent enough time, exchanged enough dialog to have any idea what so ever surrounding what their constituents need or want.

They are millionaires that couldn't care less about any of it because they are all being paid by those with personal revenue streams above 2 million a year. ALL of them.

How quickly and readily a large sector of what's left of the middle class and lower class have forgotten the days of death and maiming this planet went through with diseases that killed and crippled billions. And the 10's of thousands of females that were physically mangled and died due to alley and basement abortions they had to pursue in order to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.

COVID-19 has now killed 3/4 Of a million of US citizens to this point, despite vaccines that at a minimum will prevent this disease from killing them. Yet, a large sector of the population continue to thumb their noses at getting it; all because they so readily accept the propaganda that supports foregoing it. Which is in the lions share of cases are an outright lie and insidious threat to populations across the planet.

When what is left of this nation's populace after the next decade looks back on this historically, they will understand the inherit danger in not performing due diligence personally instead of just swallowing what the barrage of propaganda tells them to believe.

Most states presently are coming to the realization that the population of their citizens has dropped over the previous years numbers. Natural death rates have rarely if ever driven a negative population growth rate year over year since the creation and mandatory vaccination of the population were last imposed upon this nations citizens. Decades ago.

Apparently for long enough to drive the historic lessons this nation, and the world learned back then, to be erased from the minds and memories of generations.

Learn the lessons of history and teach them to the children, or be doomed to repeat them. Something this nation is heel bent on doing it would seem.

The best thing God could do for the future of this nation, is to ensure that the expiration dating of both Trump and Biden are reached prior to the next presidential election. And if s/he wants to bestow some extra blessings, including strategic members of Congress would be an excellent start. And the SCOTUS too. . .

Abortion

This has been settled law for decades.

Roe Vs Wade

Zealot right wing conservatives continue the decades long attack upon that landmark legal decision, by hawking opinions steeped in "religious beliefs " that have no place within our government.

The legal decision brought with it the right to choose for women, and put an end to the senseless maiming and slaughter of this country's women that had been going on for decades!

You won't read about those reasons because they are too horrible to even mention. Back alley coat hangers that tear up a woman's insides and render her barren for the rest of her life, at best, and at worst kill her due to internal bleeding, infections, etc.

The slaughter of women due to these "non medical" illegal abortions was rampant before Roe Vs Wade, and was eliminated once it was passed. For so long apparently it's memory is all but forgotten in society today.

Why? Because a society that fails to learn from its past, and educate its children by truthfully and faithfully teaching them its history, is doomed to repeat its past.

Will we continue down this path and subject our women to portraying yet another senseless slaughter? Or will we continue to allow them the choice that ensures their decision is the correct one for their respective circumstances?

The answer is clear if anyone cares to review the lessons this nations women provided in the 30s through the early 70s. Let us not repeat that slaughter!

Women's bodies. Women's choice!

Estimates of the number of illegal abortions in the 1950s and 1960s ranged from 200,000 to 1.2 million per year. One analysis, extrapolating from data from North Carolina, concluded that an estimated 829,000 illegal or self-induced abortions occurred in 1967.

One stark indication of the prevalence of illegal abortion was the death toll. In 1930, abortion was listed as the official cause of death for almost 2,700 women—nearly one-fifth (18%) of maternal deaths recorded in that year. The death toll had declined to just under 1,700 by 1940, and to just over 300 by 1950 (most likely because of the introduction of antibiotics in the 1940s, which permitted more effective treatment of the infections that frequently developed after illegal abortion). By 1965, the number of deaths due to illegal abortion had fallen to just under 200, but illegal abortion still accounted for 17% of all deaths attributed to pregnancy and childbirth that year. And these are just the number that were officially reported; the actual number was likely much higher.

Well here we go. I came to post about the Absolutely asinine ruling of the SCOTUS yesterday, but remembered I already had with the above post on May 5th.

The answers to the questions I ask above are now answered, as apparently 5 decades worth of political pandering to special interest groups have erased a century of progress to women's rights, and is enough to erase the senseless slaughter of women from this nations collective memory.

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ...
