Bull. . . they refused to work toward common ground, and stalled. Pretty simple really. If any one of us did something similar in our work, we'd be fired on the spot! They should have been.

What the democrats are doing is similar, but at least the REASON they are doing it is to prevent an illegal and unconstitutional law from being enacted and jammed down the throats of the working class.
Who pays their salaries? Who is going to pay their fines?
They were at least in the building doing their job and not hiding away like a bunch of cowards.  Why don't they stay and fight for what they feel is right instead of running off to avoid it?

And as a side note...are the tax payers footing the bill for their hotel stays?  You know they aren't if they can help it.

Don't worry, one of the website has collect over $250,000 for them and if they need more I'm going to send them some money.  I think the Republicans have stepped on their dicks this time.

Also the governor want to stop the insurance companies from paying for woman birth control pills.  What does that have to do with money for the state.

They have never just flat ran away and hid to keep from voting on something like a bunch of cowards.  They stayed and done what the system allowed for and what the dems do too.  These people are just flat not doing their job period.

They are lawfully refusing to vote upon legislation that they correctly deem illegal and unconstitutional; and there are legions of voters who agree with them. (A few of which happen to be republican. . . Imagine that).

I suppose they should just come back and take a page from the "republican dirty tricks" manual of the 111th congress, and stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, stall, stall. . . Same result either way. . .

Because the sheeple of this state did the dumbest thing they could have ever done, and voted in a republican majority.  They come back, the bill gets passed, and as usual the working class gets the shaft at the hand of the rich pandering republican party!

That would be like fight some little battle you know you can't win be cause the deck is stacked against you.  You run to fight again, this battle is far from being over.  You want to bet on it.  That the Republican will win on this miscarriage of justice.  Put up your money and we will see who right.  Because you and your Republicans are wrong on this one.

Why did they have to cut and run?  They could have done it by staying ya know.  What kind of uproar would there have been if the Republican's had pulled a stunt like this?  Voting no is one thing running away to keep from it is another and wrong. They are not doing their job any way you look at it.

Well, to me it is, they are keeping the Republicans from walking all over the working people.  But some people don't know right from wrong and what the Republicans are doing is wrong, wrong, wrong. :trustme:  :salute: :4th3:

Hell, they're just doing the Hybrid Republican Shuffle!

But you know what, it isn't going to matter at the end of the day. The rich pandering republicans will get their way. And when the shaft comes to rest deep in your bootie, don't squeal and don't say you weren't told. . .

What they are doing is trying to save the state from going bankrupt and keep those teachers jobs.  If they don't make some concessions there are going to have to be lay offs.  They simply cannot afford to keep paying those teachers over $80k pr year plus full benefits period.   What is it about broke you can't seem to understand?

What is going on to day is like the Super Rich and the middle class fighting over a gold mine.  After the fight is over the rich would have the gold and we would have the shaft and the clean up cost.   We have got to put a stop to it, because there is more of us than them.  WAKE UP AMERICA WORKERS.  :4th4:

I don't know a single teacher at the primary or high school level that makes that kind of lettuce. College professors, maybe, but not public school teachers. Administrators at that level, yeah probably.

Fact is our teachers are among the poorest paid in the world, and the sad reality is they are the most valuable toward this nations future. And we pay them chicken feed. Factory workers in most industries make more than they do.

I say, it is what it is, and if they need to lay off teachers then so be it. But don't take away their right to bargain in good faith!

In Indiana, the only workers who have any kind of rights are those who fall under the protection of a contract. Anyone else is subject to being fired for no reason, or any reason at all; which is exactly why they want to dissolve the teachers bargaining rights in the first place. As an "AT WILL" state, unless you have a contract / bargaining agreement that specifically grants you legal rights, you have NONE in this state and can be fired at any given moment on any given day!

During world war 2 Lockheed aircraft company was built close to a plastic manufacture and it smell really bad.  One day at Lockheed a man answered the telephone and said "Skunk Works".  The famous Kelly Johnson heard him say it and he fired the man on the spot.  Ever since that day that company has been know as the Skunk Works.  In fact their newest plant has a big sign on it THE SKUNK WORKS.  But the man never got his job back.  Go figure.

If the legislation is illegal and unconstitutional why don't they fight for what they 'believe'? If the bill passes then take it to the courts to decide. We have these processes in place for a reason.

The only winner right now is the unions. The union big wigs get to line their pockets with the members money and then turn around and donate to keep their pets in office so the unions can keep their power.
