So you're all for being forced to be in a union whether you want to or not then?  Am I understanding you right?

Give me the proof that it would force anyone into a union.  I think you're dreaming.  All it would do is keep the company for using pressure and threats to keep the union out.

You prove to me that Card Check would actually force people into a union against their will.  No information from Fox News and anti-union websites.

Prove it and I will agree with you.  You're just blowing smoke and mirrors like you always do when it come to unions.

Now get with it and PROVE IT.  Long Live the Union Workers of America  :salute:  :4th4:

Let's see, first of all you didn't answer any of the questions.

<<Mercy Snip>>

Wow, I thought conspiracy theorists were masters of spin and misquotes. I never said "You Libs don't know anything about the Constitution". I said: "you libs tend to forget about that little piece of paper when it's inconvenient to your goals" Two different phrases, two different meanings.

I also like the way you say I didn't answer your questions and then acknowledge that I did. Yes, an individual or a group can stand up for their rights and fight for what is fair and they don't need a union or any other 'official' group to do it for them.

I already told you what unions I belonged to and I am not telling you what the names of the companies were. I have worked both white collar and blue collar jobs, I have worked in dirty, noisy, oily factories. Again you make assumptions based on your own bias instead of getting the facts first.

You also go on to assume that I am a "Baby boy" when you have NO clue how old I am or the experiences I have.

How many times do I have to say that unions had their place and when they did they did a lot for the working class in this country but in today's society they have become just as greedy and corrupt as the corporations that you rail against.

Everything I have and learned I did on my own. Nobody paid my way nor was anything handed to me.

It's simple. Card-check could remove the right to a secret ballot of the employees to ratify a union. Having people come around with a 'card' for people to sign in favor of the union makes it possible for the union reps or other employees to put undue pressure on others to sign the card.

On the same note, whay is this even an issue? If unions are such a good thing then they should have no problem getting ratified at a business with secret ballots.

The only reason dems and unions are pushing card-check is because of declining union membership. Why is membership declining? Maybe because the vast majority don't like unions.

Maybe you're against secret ballots in all elections too??

I tired of arguing with you, you're wrong on so many things.  A single person can stand up to the government and a corporations.  On that alone make you a nut case.  A teabagger through and through.  I have spent many weeks auguring with the other Hawk, he is of the same ilk.  Nothing for anyone, but you. :flap:  :flap:  :flap: :jester:

:music1: Me, me me :music1: I'm in love with me, me, me :music1: bless my little heart :music1: I'm in love with me, me, meeeeeee! :music1:  Find someone of your own ilk to talk about unions.  Union declining?  It's because of the Republicans changing the laws.  Just like in Wisconsin.  All scabs to make slaves out of the American worker and you're part of the plan.  :finger2:

I not too yellow to let someone know how I vote.  I declare every time, that I am a DEMOCRAT.   A yellow dog Democrat, I would vote for a yellow dog, before I would vote for one Republican or a damn Teabagger.  You can vote for Sarah Palin and Michell Bachman.  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

Ran across some interesting facts and figure while digging a bit deeper into the union issue.

It was asserted that union membership is declining because of the Republicans. Looking at union membership historical data, membership has been declining since at least 1973. At that time membership was at 24% and as of 2010 was at 11.9%. I wasn't aware that the Republicans were in power for that whole time.

http://unionstats.gsu.edu/All%20Wage%20and%20Salary%20Workers.htm

I also ran across another interesting fact. The lowest union membership by state is North Carolina. North Carolina is a 'Right To Work' state. In fact right to work states consistently have the lowest union memberships. If people want/need unions then why is this?? Union membership in Indiana has fallen over 10% since 1989.

http://www.bls.gov/ro5/unionin.htm

I also found out why the Democrats are fighting Right To Work legislation so hard. Public sector employees make up over 36% of the union membership in the United states. If these workers are given the chance to opt out of belonging to a union then those numbers would fall to private sector numbers and the democrats tax money laundering scheme would dry up.

It looks to me as though the unions are falling not because of any one political party but because of the will of the people.

It seems that average people CAN make a difference without the aid of anyone other than their own voices.

One more time, I will waste my time talking to you.  Just like the :chick: Hawk, he doesn't want to answer question either.  But just one more time.  Question:  Why is it that thousand of people in Wisconsin, Indiana, New Jersey and Ohio are fighting the Republicans to  keep their union rights.  Question: Why, since you don't have no dog in the fight?  Why are you against people having a union contract.

Also, do you in all of your brain washed wisdom, think that the lost of union jobs could be because of Free Trade.  The same free trade NAFTA that George H. Bush sat down with Prime Minster of Canada and the President of Mexico and signed the NAFTA treaty.  How about all of the other Republican initiated free trade treaties.

Yes free trade, not fair trade has killed the high paid American worker.  China, Mexico and Canada has them all.  Since you're in computers, China and India will have you job, I hope.  They have computer specialist running out of their ass and they all work cheaper than you.  It's coming and you know it.  They will have all of computers or build a computer that will replace you.  Think about free trade for awhile baby boy, it's isn't the unions.

Again, it's just like :deadhorse:  FINIS.

What you don't realize, or just ignore, Troll is the fact that most of those people protesting in Wi are bussed in from other places and the union is paying them to be there.  They are professional protesters.  I'll say one thing, if my children were attending a school with teachers that act like that bunch I'd be looking for another school or home schooling them.

What percentage of the population was protesting?? Wisconsin alone has a population of ove 5.5 million people. So what.... probably less than 1%? Seems that there would be more if people really wanted to keep unions. AsMe said also, a lot of those protesters were bussed in from elsewhere.

My dog in this fight as you say is that it is my tax money that is being laundered to pay for the campaigns of politicians.

NAFTA was signed in 1992. Union membership had been falling for at least 19 years by then. So yup, I can see how you came to the conclusion that NAFTA is to blame.

While free trade has some to do with it it is mainly the fault of unions and their greedy cohorts. They kept demanding more and more from corporations until it made it impossible for the corporations to turn a profit and be competitive in the world marketplace. It could be argued that NAFTA and free trade was brought about by unions for these very same reasons.

And again I see that you didn't refute the facts I presented. Typical.

Nhawk, I didn't know you were such a student of union history.  Everything you have told me is bullshit.  You people got rid of manufacturing, saying that high tech would create the jobs we need to keep the country strong and rich.  You people were sure as hell wrong on that.  You Super Rich, corporation loving Republicans have caused all of the problems we are having now, it sure isn't the unions.

And please don't say you're not Republican, the way you hate the unions, poor people, sick people, uneducated people and hate paying taxes to live in the greatest country in the world.  You couldn't vote anyway other way but Republican.

From now on, please contact one of your anti-union and Republican friends  Hhawk and "ME".  All three of you are wrong in everything you think.  Just plain wrong, mean and stupid.  I do love the unions and the UAW, they sure made my life good.  :flag:  I do know what side my bread is buttered on.
