I'm not sure if we have a YouTube video thread around here, so I thought I would start one. If you run across any interesting videos that you'd like to share, feel free to put them here.
I'll start with this one. It's pretty cool and it's only 1 minute and 50 seconds or so.
Watch how these people change their behavior and start taking the stairs. Initially, almost EVERYONE took the escalator until they were given a reason not to.
http://www.youtube.com/v/M5iU5uo0UV4
 Wonder how many folks were hospitalized after falling trying to play chop sticks on those stairs??? :spooked:
:rotfl:
Definitely different.
Don't know if this could be considered interesting or not but it certainly is funny.

Two videos of the same event. The first shows the lady slapping the fan, and the second is a better view o the fall they both took after the situation escalated. Watch quickly as YouTube has been pulling this because whomever was broadcasting the match is claiming copyright infringement.
^^ Looks like they got off easy.
According to the New York Post, the brawl stemmed from an issue over vocabulary. "He said, 'You've got a problem? Go ahead and hit me,' and she slapped him across the face," a source told the Post.
All three fans were taken the 110th Precinct in Queens, Tim Curry, a spokesman for the United States Tennis Association, said. They were not charged; rather, they were given trespass warnings and told not to return to the Open for a certain amount of time, the New York Times reported (authorities were not aware of the duration).

I'm glad to know they were all taken in and not just the young guy. I figured the older people were gonna try to skate and probably would have if there hadn't been videos.
I definitely think the old man was going to try and skate.

I think the young guy showed a lot of restraint. If she had slapped my face she would have got it back. The old guy got what he deserved. You don't kick someones leg and give him a left cross and expect him to stay seated. The old SOB got what he deserved. But then again he has to go home with that bitch.
I wish someone would have decked the asshole who was screaming throw the bum out. But what got me was the assholes who came down from above rows and jumped the young guy, while he was trying to stay out of the fray. When the bitch came over and slapped him again.

You trying to take over Glen Beck's job? How can you say WHAT I am? You don't know me. But if you had ever paid attention, you would see where I have stated my beliefs at one point here.

Tell me about the M-1 weighing 9 pounds. After a 8 mile march. They weight at least 50 pounds. The one the Amry gave me had been really used. All of the blueing worn off.
Who ever had it before me and it must have been many, really had it zeroed in. I shot expert with it the first time around. Good heavy Rifle.
As we were taught. We were told to grab our crotch and scream, "this is my gun". Then we would hold up our M-1's and scream, "this is my rifle" Yes, the M-1 was my rifle. :salute: :flag:

At that rate after about 200 miles you would have a howitzer. Ever fire one of them Troll?

NO SIR! SIR! Got to stand about 15 feet behind one when they were firing it. With my finger in my ears and my mouth open, so the back blast wouldn't bust my ear drums.
Then got to ride out about 5 miles to the OP, observation point and watch it blow the hell out of a Halftrack. I sure don't want to be on the wrong of a 8 inch howitzer. They will sure kill you.

If it keeps on rainin, levees goin to break,
If it keeps on rainin, levees goin to break,
When the levee breaks Ill have no place to stay.
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Lord, mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home,
Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well.
Dont it make you feel bad
When youre tryin to find your way home,
You dont know which way to go?
If youre goin down south
They got no work to do,
If you dont know about chicago.
Cryin wont help you, prayin wont do you no good,
Now, cryin wont help you, prayin wont do you no good,
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move.
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
Thinkin bout me baby and my happy home.
Going, gon to chicago,
Gon to chicago,
Sorry but I cant take you.
Going down, going down now, going down.

You better get yourself together,
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead,
What in the world you thinking of,
Laughing in the face of love,
What on earth you tryin' to do,
It's up to you, yeah you.
Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna look you right in the face,
Better get yourself together darlin',
Join the human race,
How in the world you gonna see,
Laughin' at fools like me,
Who on earth d'you think you are,
A super star,
Well, right you are.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Well we all shine on,
Ev'ryone come on.
Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna knock you off your feet,
Better recognize your brothers,
Ev'ryone you meet,
Why in the world are we here,
Surely not to live in pain and fear,
Why on earth are you there,
When you're ev'rywhere,
Come and get your share.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Yeah we all shine on,
Come on and on and on on on,
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah-.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Yeah we all shine on,
On and on and on on and on.

To think these old men who have had a golden spoon in their mouths all of their lives. With all of the money to keep themselves and family until they die. Are so greedy they have to rob all of the people in the world of a decent and healthy life.
They are two of the many who would defiantly have a change of life if I had the magic to change their assholes lives. I wouldn't want them dead, but want they to live to over 100 years old with nothing but a $700 Social Security check and a voucher for $1,500 a year to buy private health insurance. Yes I did, and I appreciate your advise. I do have one right now, but I am not happy with the way it is working. I need to have it serviced or I was flirting with the idea of a new one. I have heard about the no salt electric ones and I kind of agree with you, I find it hard to believe it would make soft water. I will probably just get this one serviced and see if I can live with it for a while longer.
But I do thank you though...

There are screens and a injector that can get dirty and stopped up. like I said, they are like any thing mechanical, they do need some service.
Also you could put some Iron Out to run through your softener. Take a pound or two of Iron Out and mix it with about a gallon of warm water and put it in the brine well of your salt tank and cycle the softener. Mix this out side and in a plastic bucket. This mixture will take your breath. If you got a lot of iron in your water, you should do this every time you fill your softener or two or three time a year.
After you have used the softener for a day or two, take two cups of chlorine bleach and pour it down you brine well tube and cycle your softener. This will purify your softener and make the water taste better. If the water has a chlorine taste, just run it, until it is gone.
Don't mix the bleach with the Iron Out, is will produce that World War I gas, Chlorine gas.

This is basically what they do when they take your mineral tank in to clean it out I found out when I had one and, yes, that Iron Out works great because it cleans the mineral bed and unclumps it. Great advice you gave HH Troll. If the iron content of his water is high those jets will get stopped up quite frequently. I had to clean ours out a couple of times a month and there was usually always little iron deposits clogging the openings. You can save yourself a pile of money if you learn to take the heads apart and clean them out yourself and do the Iron Out thing regularly. Just make sure to get all of the Iron Out rinsed out of the brine tank 'cause it's nasty. Didn't know about the bleach thing in the water softener but he did take the plumbing loose at the well and pour a gallon of bleach in it to clean out the holding tank about every 3 or 4 months we bypassed the softener when we did that though. We had 25 parts per mil iron in our water and it was nasty even with a softener... :puke:

I will say something you don't have 25 parts of iron in your water. If you did you probably could sell to a steel mill. You probably had 2.5 Parts per million of iron. The government requires that towns and cities remove iron from their water to below .3 parts per million of iron. Even with this low amount of iron you will get iron in your toilet, it you haven't seen in toilets in the city restrooms.
In some of the softeners where people was calling me to clean the screens and injectors so much. I talked them into putting a full house cartridge filter in front of their softener that you can buy at Lowes and change the cartridges yourself, easily and using more Iron Out. I felt that I couldn't keep taking advantage of them when there was such a cheap and easy way to cure the problem.
One more tip of cleaning a well with chlorine. Use swimming pool chlorine. It's stronger and cheaper. But if you have a pitless adapter on your well or a way to get to the opening to the top. First of all put you softener on by-pass and don't use any water in your house while doing this..
Open up your well pour 3 or 4 gallons of swimming pool bleach or chlorine into it. drag your outside hose over to the well and put in down in to the well and turn in on and run it for several hours. Then mix a box of Calgon water softener with water and pour that down into the well and run that for awhile. What this does is clean your well casing pipe, your pump your line to your pressure tank, your pressure tank and your line out to your hose. The Calgon will hold the iron in suspension so when you pumping out the chlorine the iron won't stick to the pipes and will come out. You won't believe how bad this water will look when it first start coming out out of your well.
Then take the hose out and put it some where it won't kill the grass and run until the smell of bleach is almost gone. It might take a day or to for the bleach to disappear. But I will tell you one thing you will have one of the cleanest wells around. I had an old chemist at Bruner softener company, when I first started selling softeners tell me this. I have told many people about this, they did and were all pleased. Like I have said, I have had no unhappy customers with my softeners when they listen to me.
I had one customer complain to me that my damn softener was plugging up to much. I told him. Fred you got to remove the clumps of iron that is coming out of your well, softeners don't remove clumps without stopping up. We had to put in a large sand filter and an iron filter because his water was so bad. He did it and he was happy. Each well in Indiana has it's own problems and hardly any of them are iron free. Clean hard water is easy to soften, but water with iron, a lot of iron is another bad game.

Could be the softener people lied to us about the content too but when there was no softener the water came out of the faucet red and you could practically chew it, or it seemed that way. It was nasty and I'm sooooo glad I don't have to put up with it anymore. We couldn't even wash down the siding with the outside hose because it stained it so I bought an adapter for the faucet and hooked the hose to it and ran it out the door to wash the siding. I hear ya about the clumps some of them I'd get out of the workings were the size of pebbles, did not allow free flow of water through the jets at all....

I don't know about lying to you, but you probably knew more about water softeners that the salesman. Some of these people don't know what's inside of the head or how to solider a copper tube. The first thing I would have sold you was an Greensand Iron filter and chlorinate your well two or three times a year. Some people I knew did in the spring and fall and kept the iron bacteria under control. The Iron bacteria do like to eat iron and collect it in red snotty globs. I think you know what I mean.
But most people that have real bad problems is from iron bacteria. This is what cause the lumps and slime. It is the consistency of red snot. My company even sold automatic chlorine injector for the well to kill the iron bacteria.
In some cases it is cheaper to dig another well than spend money for years and years of treating it.
Oh, there is one more thing about iron. There to kinds of iron water Ferric, and Ferrus. One come out already red colored and a water can't remove that, only a green sand iron filter. The other one the water comes out clear and turns red after being exposed to oxygen and water softener can remove that. But the softener should be cleaned regularly with Iron Out.
I have seen so many people who lived in the city and moved to the country and built a nice new house, Only to see it turn red on the inside from the iron in the well. Guess what, the women see red when their sheets turn pink.

Yes. They really weren't concrete, though; they were some sort of dense composite. I never saw the process but Jim explained it to me and apparently he had what can only be described as a big centrifuge that he spun the molds in while he injected the liquid composite material. The speakers sounded very good!

IINM, Jim is deceased, but I talked with him on more than one occasion. I always considered Jim's cabinets permanent installation since they weighed so dang much. Didn't work for me, but I appreciated his work because I studied about, and built some, enclosures myself back in the day.

Yes, I believe Jim died several years ago. You must be thinking of the big cabinets he made early on and yes, they would be limited in their use. You may be right that they were some sort of concrete as well now that I think of it. When I met him and was out at his house, he was making smaller enclosures for home theater installations...his were mounted on the walls in his living room. Interesting guy...and very innovative.

Sadly, I didn't keep up with him so though I heard he changed some of his construction practices, I never talked with him about them - and you're right, he was both innovative and interesting, pretty much considered a genius among audiophiles.

It's an old video. My girlfriend has an Epic 4G and Sprint, I have an iPhone 4S and AT&T. Not sure if it's the operating system or what but I have much better coverage and lots fewer problems than she does. She now wants an iPhone for Christmas this year. Same deal with the girl who sits next to me at work...just dumped her Android phone for the i and likes it much better.

I used to have to communicate with a bunch of field technicians with a variety of cell phones and carriers. In my experience, it's the carrier and not the phone that makes the biggest difference. In the DC area, AT&T is horrible. Verizon is best with T Mobile a close second. I have a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone with T Mobile and I absolutely love it!

My experience is different. I had a crack berry for a couple of years, and I had the "Instinct" for a couple of years, and about a half dozen others, and I now have an iPhone 4S. There is zero comparison between the iPhone and the others, and I had all of them with the same carrier. iPhone is head and shoulders above every other phone I have owned for the last 14 years; with the same carrier. Reception, clarity, functionality. . . none of them can hold a candle to the iPhone.
Even in the middle of the Appalachian mountain range, where every other phone I have owned has failed miserably, the iPhone has performed flawlessly. . .
Question. Why does anyone need all that anyway? Sure I have a cell phone, a Sony w/tracfone, don't even know the number but it goes with us when we are in the car for emergency use.
Cell phones are a wonderful invention, but talking on them in the car, restaurants, in line at the grocery store, in the waiting rooms for the doctor office, hospital waiting rooms and talking in a very loud voice on it can be the tipping point of killing someone. Some people don't when to turn them off, like during a funeral service, movie theater.

Question. Why does anyone need all that anyway?
Answer: convenience. I can check the weather, get directions, read the news, pay my insurance bill, access my bank accounts, store all of the bar codes for my shopper's cards, take a picture, look up a restaurant, check my Facebook or my work email, read this forum, etc., etc., etc...the list is endless...all from my phone, anywhere, any time.

Even in the middle of the Appalachian mountain range, where every other phone I have owned has failed miserably, the iPhone has performed flawlessly. . .
Good to know that. That's why we have these discussions.

Yes!
I can be in an unfamiliar place, and because my phone tracks my location, I am one button away from a list of restaurants (with reviews) local shops, and places of interest.

Ironically, I rarely use my phone to actually talk to someone else and those conversations are typically short. Who are all of these people talking to all of the time and what could possibly be that important?

You know, I rarely use mine for talking, now that you mention it. I get texts from technicians, and respond with texts most of the time.

Second guy says, "What are you doing?". First guy says, "Nothing much." First guy was beginning to get nervous. Second guy says, "How about getting together later?" The way that I heard about the two guys in the stalls went this way. There was knock on the stall wall. The guy says, you got any toilet paper over there. The other guy said, damn, I'm out of toilet paper. Back to the other stall the guy said, you got any newspaper over there. The guy says, damn I don't have any paper over here. My uncle used to be big into model airplanes and before he went into the Air Force we would go to a park in town every Sunday and watch them fly their planes. Heck, even after he left dad and my other uncle would take us kids every other Sunday or so. BRAVO!!! ... That was awesome!
Very nice, indeed. I had never heard of Steve Bean so I looked him up and found this interesting bit ...
Steve truly believes in the quality of his music. So much so he has commissioned his very own guitar by the very talented luthier AJ Lucas. The back and sides are made of Brazilian rosewood which gives the guitar it's unique depth and beautiful resonance. The top is European spruce giving a tight & bright attack to the sound. The combination of the woods create a mellow toned instrument with crystal like clarity and a incredible dynamic range. It has a mahogany neck with ebony fret board. The binding is made of Tasmanian Black Wood . It is as beautiful to look at as it sounds.... And it sounds beautiful!

DETROIT, Mich. (PIX11) – Don't mess with this cat.
A Michigan woman suffered swelling in her face and a trip to the hospital after instigating a fight with a stray cat who wouldn't back down.
Maxx, a resident from Melvin, Michigan, told WJBK that she was simply trying to "protect" her mother's dog from a stray cat.
In the security video, Maxx was caught kicking snow at the cat she named "Buddy" before the furry feline retaliated and launched itself onto her head.
After sustaining scratches to her face and falling, Maxx backed off and retreated into her home. She got an infection that turned into into cellulitis, therefore causing her face to swell and went to a hospital.
According to WJBK, local officials found "Buddy" and tested it for rabies. However, to do that, the stray cat had to be put down. Tests came out negative for rabies.

There's a drummer friend of ours who makes me think of Animal when he plays. I started calling him that years ago and the name stuck. I would love to find a small stuffed Animal for him to put with his drums and so would his wife but so far neither of us have managed to find one.

 You can take the girl out of the country, but .... I spent most of the last week of June back home. Met up with some old friends, went to the graveyard to visit my parents, went to a weenie roast and a cook-out under a tent because it poured rain -- but that didn't dampen our spirits. I forgot everything but the moment while I was there. Took me about a week to come down after I got back here to Northern Virginia.

This 9-Year-Old Plays The Harp So Beautifully That You Could Be In A Fairytale.

At age 9, most children can just about perform an ear-piercing tune on the recorder. Not Alisa Sadikova — she's gone quite a few steps further.
Alisa began playing the harp at the tender age of five. She is now a renowned player worldwide and has even played at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City.

106 years old. Born in 1910.
When this woman was born an individual of color had absolutely zero hope of dancing in the White House, and even less of a chance of meeting the sitting POTUS and 1st Lady and dancing with them both.
106 years later, here she is doing both. And still able to laugh, walk, talk, and dance with a surprising amount of quickness given her age. And what did she want for her 106th birthday? To meet the President.
After 106 years in this place, birthday wish granted! 8) (Well done Mr. President and 1st Lady!)
These are milestones worth remembering and sharing, for I dare say they will become even rarer than they were the day this woman was born. :'(

Take Me Home, Country Roads. Some time after that I was in the cemetery where my parents and some others are buried and saw a headstone with those same words. Stood there and cried like a baby. Hearing it again still makes cold chills go over me.

In a perfect world, yes, but I know lots of very talented musicians who work in factories.

Yes Ex, you're right. There is more talent than opening in the music world. The powers that be only let a few reach the top and if you can't make a living playing music. You just have to find other work. :me: probably can't carry a tune :music1: in a wash tub. She just sits back and cuts someone's ass, trying to make it.

Talented and untalented musicians work in factories. Or used to when there were a lot of them. . . :big grin:
Now some of them work at WalMart, McDonalds, or the sweatshops trying to pass for factories these days.

You don't like Vince Gill or his tribute song to Merle? Did you listen to the words? It's a song from his heart and, I think, well done.
This has been floating around on fb for a few days now and I finally listened to it and am glad I did. Love this guy's voice and it is almost identical to another song I love by Etta James, I'd Rather Go Blind.

Not a cat person but my fiancé is and they're pretty much like this.
I thought this was rather soothing and I do believe the dog loves it too. :smitten:

Anyone who hasn't caught Melissa McCarthy's skits on SNL portraying Sean Spicer just don't know what you're missing. Fuckin' hilarious. This one is especially funny when he brings out the Barbie dolls. At any rate, here it is for those who haven't seen it, or who don't stay up late enough on Saturday to catch SNL.

The only reason to watch SNL is for her and Alec Baldwin's Trump skits. This was fantastic.

If that wasn't done with the music, which I think it may have been, whoever added it did an excellent job. She does have some smooth moves for sure.

Not sure if it was or they just sped it up and slowed it down to fit the music. She has a You Tube channel...Katie Sunshine and is really a grade school art teacher from Arkansas...who would've guessed?
The band, Record Company, is interesting as well. 3 guys...drums, bass and sitar plus vocals. Check out their song Off the Ground.

I think they have a new fan now. I liked the one you mentioned and some of the ones they did jammin' in the van. The guy on lap steel ain't shabby on harmonica or guitar either. There wera a couple of songs I didn't care for, too repetitive, but they are good musicians. Thanks for turning me on to them. :)
Think I'll just go put all my guitars into their cases and call it a day......This kid is good for sure and really feels it. :smitten:

I was Youtubing again tonight and ran across Yuja Wang, and excellent piano player. For those of you who like classical music this is well worth a listen. This one of my favorites. I would have shared my most favorite but it was an hour long.

She'd put some of the "start" to shame IMO and his guitar playin' ain't shabby either.
