Yep. Lots of situations we encounter daily are not as speedy as we want them to be, since there are a lot of people in our society (soon to become a much larger number) who are becoming more frail by the day.

They are going to be "in the way" more and more.

A little compassion, please.

Seems the same attitude is present in the commercial where the line of people buying things is just going along swimmingly, until the dolt/jerk/moron in the line actually has the AUDACITY to offer *gasp* CASH for the purchase. Everybody looks at him/her with derision, for even proffering the filthy lucre. HOW DARE HE/SHE!!!!

Of course, the commercial is one for Visa.

But, it shows the attitude. We have no time for people. We only want what want immediately; screw the poor bastards who hold up the line of marionettes.

Hell, no government has to teach us how to be pricks to each other.

We're teaching each other new techniques.

LOL!!  You're on a roll today, FTW.

As an aside to the above, and in regard to the paying cash, I find it interesting that one of the whole credit/debit card sales pitch was that it was faster than cash.  I haven't seen any evidence of that being the case.

Ain't it the truth. Ever try to deal with a flippin' card that won't swipe, even after the plastic bag trick, and the clerk tried to enter the number manually? Whoa. A whole new world of frustration erupts with the assistant manager, and manager. After a brief consultation (and a probable memo from a deity of one kind or another) they agree to take it over to another register where they can try it until it works. Now, THAT is a time-saver.

Same as two other affirmations I find equally confusing:

1. When computers are widespread, the need for paper will be reduced to just about nil. Files     will be maintained electronically, thereby savng hundreds of thousands of trees. (Random remarks made about 35 or so years ago by some very misguided folk.)

2. The war in Iraq will pay for itself because of the oil there.  (I think this incredible stupidity speaks for itself.)

It's not going to get better as the Baby Boomers all get old, in fact we will be up to our replaced hips in geezers.

I wasn't.  I was sleeping for awhile and then moving stuff from my daughters back to my own house.  I've had an unscheduled need to go home.  Now I'm sitting here, half frozen wondering where I can find a generator for about 4 weeks until I can afford to buy one of my own. :(  My utilities will never be turned back on at the rate I'm not making any money at my job.
Looks like I've come full circle.

OK, it's official I hate the Christmas season.  This time of the year is particularly stressful. Today, I had many rude customers. The closer it gets to Christmas the worse it is. People are in an extreme hurry, and they are very short tempered. I had a lady come in and order some food and cookies. The cookies were back on top of the oven. So, I made her change. Then I told my boss I was going to the restroom. When I came back the women says "Did you remember to get the cookies?" in a very snotty voice. It pissed me off, and I said in a very snotty tone," No they're in the back." and pointed at them. Bitch!!!!  I guess she thought I shit cookies or something. Jesum Crow!!!! I've got about 2 weeks of crap like that coming.
