You remind me so much of a friend I had in college. She'd tell me these stories about things that happened to her and be totally serious. She'd have the strangest things happen and get into the funniest predicaments. I couldn't help but laugh. The whole time, I'm saying, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, because I know that at the time "it" was happening to her, it wasn't funny, but somehow the way she told the story...did me in. :biggrin: I can totally picture the events above and I'm LMAO!

Kinda, but I refuse to go to that level. Trust me, my tone of voice lets him know that he's on dangerous ground, but I don't raise my voice or meet his tone, ever. I think at some  point in time, he has gotten the impression all that chest beating is a good way to frazzle someone or get them to back off/down. When he sees that I'm not bothered (I am, but he doesn't see it) then he starts to back peddle and come to his senses. Like today. Suddenly he wants to go somewhere and guess who he wanted to give him a ride. :smile: Guess who holds the keys? and guess who's not going anywhere? Perhaps he'll remember  the next time that he raises his voice. We had a long talk about his behavior and attitude. We'll see if it works. :wink:

Good for you PIYA.  I know when my voice got real calm I stated things very distinctly and looked right into the kids eyes they knew mom had had it and they'd better shape up.  By the same token if they raised their voice at me I usually ignored them or just walked away until they could talk to me in a civil tone.  Didn't take too many times of that 'til they figured yelling wasn't going to get them squat with me....(Well, anything but grounded maybe). :biggrin:

I guess you just have to know my 17 year old. Good kid, but her mouth gets away with her. She had been mean to everyone for about an hour and I had had enough, and was informing her of such, and she told me to go away, leave the room, leave her alone.  Oh man, that's when I told her to shut her mouth. 

Remember, I'm stressed already, and babysitting 3 grandsons, while having my own 4 minors with me, staying at my daughters house until I figure out the utility situation.  Still trying to put in applications for jobs in between beating all the kids (just kidding) and cooking meals.   Sometimes, I just break and the teens get a taste of me sinking to that level.  It happens.
Looks like I've come full circle.

In my life if there is anything that can go wrong it does. If it can be broken,crashed or wrecked in any way I'm there. It never ends for me LOL!!!It's like having a bad day every day LOL!!!! Atleast I can laugh about it tho.  :yes:
