No but I'm not fond of insects and one that large wouldn't be something I'd relish running across...

LOL!!!!! I actually saw it on a program on the science channel.  It was huge. I was surprised to find out, there was more than one kind. The female always kills the male during, or after bug sex LOL!!! Sometimes the female will devour the males head during bug sex. I would seriously wonder, if it was good enough to lose the males life over. I wonder if the male has the instinct to know or not. Kinda creepy isn't it.  I don't know about anybody else, but it has never been good enough to lose my life over.  :rotfl:

They certainly are...I got some stuff to put around the outside of the house and have pretty well gotten rid of them.

That would be great if she could keep them from tunneling in the materials...lol  Of course she could maybe use brick then she'd have no problem.  That's it, she could use brick and pay them in wood...

I'm a little behind here, but how do you think it would look if I went brick instead of the vinyl siding I want to one day put on it:

Looks like I've come full circle.

Sunny - we had those on Martin St.  Do you have a dehumidifier down there?  They seemed to be better if it wasn't too damp.  My mom had a spray for them but I don't remember what kind.  You could call her and ask.
Take time to smell the roses.

I checked on time to find out how much each added to the value of a home and found out siding added more than brick believe it or not.  Cost wise siding is cheaper too.

By the time I get around to the outside of the house, it's going to have a new shape too. more squared off, no garage.  I pretty much planned on staying with the siding.  I don't think I want to brick the upstairs anyway.

I think brick would look cool, Pariann.     Someday, we want to put that siding, that looks like a log cabin on ours. That's a ways off though, right now we can't afford to do too much more. We've got the materials to put in hard wood floors, but no time to do it. LOL!!! I think it's going to be a Winter project, instead of being done by Winter, like the original plan.  That happens to us alot.

I'm about 10 years behind on a lot of the things I want done to that house.  Maybe by the time it becomes my kids inheritance it will be done and looking good.

I may have to do that. Yes to the dehumidifier -- and we definitely have a dampness issue...husband can't wait to begin demolition! :-\
