Troll, I just found out that the church in which that took place is located in Greensburg, Indiana.  It's the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church.

Locutus, Indiana is known for raising corn and hogs.  But be also raise a lot of home grown nuts.  Just look at some of our laws passed by our Republican controlled legislators.

That is why this state is at the same level as Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama in so many things.  These religious nut make so hard for us to have the freedom the Constitution affords.  Let us pray    :haha:   for deliverance from these religious assholes.

The Southern Baptist Convention on Friday reprimanded Richard Land, the chief of its policy branch, for making racially provocative remarks about the Trayvon Martin killing and announced the cancellation of his weekly radio program on public affairs.

It was a sharp but expected setback for Mr. Land, a prominent spokesman for conservative Christian causes. He has been president of the group's policy branch, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, since 1988 and was known for pushing the Southern Baptists to apologize for the group's history of racism and seek minority members.

But on March 31 on his call-in program, "Richard Land Live!," Mr. Land set off a furor when he said that President Obama and other black leaders were exploiting the Trayvon Martin shooting "to gin up the black vote." He accused the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton of fomenting a "mob mentality."

His remarks were condemned by black church leaders, and Mr. Land came under further attack when a blogger revealed that much of his statement was lifted from an editorial in The Washington Times. Mr. Land later apologized for the harm his comments had caused and for failing to credit the editorial.

West Virginia preacher Mark Randall "Mack" Wolford, who believed Christians should handle snakes to test their faith, died after a rattlesnake bit him over the weekend.

Wolford was bitten on the thigh about 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, but he didn't come to the hospital until 10:30 p.m., a nursing supervisor at Bluefield Regional Medical Center  told the Charleston Daily Mail. The incident occurred during an outdoor service at Panther State Forest, about 80 miles west of Bluefield in southern West Virginia, the paper said.

Wolford had turned 44 on Saturday. He had seen his father die of a snakebite when he was teenager, the Daily Mail reported.

The Washington Post Magazine had profiled Wolford in a story in November about the snake-handling faith. The Post said adherents cite Mark 16:17-18: "And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Snake-handling is legal in West Virginia, and Wolford was trying to keep it alive there and in neighboring states where it is not, the Post reported.

The Daily Mail reported that Wolford was bitten Sunday by a yellow timber rattlesnake -- named Sheba -- that he had often handled.

Wolford's sister told the Post that during the service he passed the snake to another church member and his mother, then laid it on the ground. "He sat down next to the snake, and it bit him on the thigh," the sister said, according to the Post.

The Post said Wolford was taken to a relative's house in Bluefield to recover, as he had from previous bites, but his condition worsened.

GREENSBURG -
Dozens of protesters greeted the congregation leaving Greensburg Apostolic Truth Temple Sunday morning after a You Tube video was posted last week.

Lyrics sung by pre-schoolers included: "the Bible is right, somebody's wrong. Romans 1 and 27, ain't no homo gonna make it to heaven."

Protester John Waudby said "when the congregation stood and hooted and hollered I was really sick."

Michelle Ray told us "they are using a child as a pawn in their message and it's just not appropriate."

But days since the controversy broke came a signal not all the congregation is behind the video.

"They love everybody, but they don't love the sin" said Robert Kirby, whose daughter teaches Sunday School at Apostolic Truth Temple.

Kirby said "it shocked everybody." He was asked if it shocked his daughter. "Think it did," he said, "Think it caught them all off guard. Nobody here told the kid to do that. I don't know where that came from." Asked if he thinks church members are sorry he said "oh yeah." Kirby attends a different church in town.

A church member said the Church will have a statement this week. The pastor is away.

But this is a country founded on religious freedom. So doesn't a congregation have the right to preach and believe as it sees fit?

"You shouldn't teach hate to a child," says Lucas Hartwell, one of the protest leaders. "You should teach them love. Love his fellow man whether he be homosexual or not."

Protester Lauren Larson said "even if one person sees our message - a teenager or something - and stops bullying somebody that's one kid that is stopped from hanging himself, possibly."

"It's bad for business," says area resident Herman Strumpf. Especially if Greensburg wants to attract another plant like Honda.

"This is not a community of bigots," Strumpf said. "This is a welcoming and diverse community. We are open for business and we want to project that image and let the whole world know."

It is really amazing when you get these religious nuts nailed to the wall.  You really find out how they are bigoted, racist and homophobic.

They say that God created everything, homosexuals, deformed children, floods, fires, starvation, but God is great.  You hear it here in America and every Muslim says it when they bomb and kill people.  Isn't religion great.
