Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or, with the exception of political speech 60 days before an election,  abridging the freedom of speech, unless it's conservative commentators, or of the press, except for conservative publications; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, unless it's citizens holding a tea party, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I gotta ask ... which one of you poor hard-done-by conservative activists weren't allowed to campaign for your candidate 60 days before the election? Which conservative commentators are suffering under a gag order? Which conservative publication was shut down (outside of the scores going belly-up from declining circulation and rising costs --but that doesn't apply to conservative rags only?) And which of you weren't allowed to attend a tea party? I must have missed all that while I was busy working for a living.

Yes, the gov't has been busy shutting down churches and forbidding prayer in the remaining ones.  You missed all that, too?

Rather queer to be hearing Liberals whine about what is and isn't in the U.S. Constitution, isn't it Henry?
As if they gave a damn, lol!
If they did, they would understand the reason for the tea parties and join them rather than belittle them.

Here's couple of questions for these self-actualized Constitutional scholars ("...but my copy of the Constitution doesn't say that."):
1) Please cite for the assembled masses the passage in the Constitution that confers upon the Federal Government the right to terminate the employment of the president of a publicly held company?

2) Please also cite the passage that confers upon the Federal Government the right to hold shares of stock (let alone a controlling interest) in a publicly held company?

And one from the "General Knowledge of Governance" category:
3) What is the name for the system of government where the means of production may be privately owned but controlled by the government, as we see with the Obama administration?

Give up? This might help: http://freedomkeys.com/isms.htm It's a comparison chart of various political-economic systems.

Too lazy to read the chart? Ok, here's the answer:
"Free enterprise capitalism exists only when people in the private sector are free to pursue their own interests without direction from government.  When politicians start passing laws to tell them what to do, or bureaucrats start issuing edicts to tell them what to do, it is no longer capitalism; it's fascism." -- Rick Gaber (emphasis mine - GoJ)

GOJ, you are so right about the tea parties.....the left is doing everything they can to ridicule them....but let me tell you...there WERE some honestly intellect democrats there, who SEE what is going on and disagree with it......these tea parties are true grass roots and are REAL concerned Americans....and it is very reassuring to me to see this happening..

That's pretty rich coming from someone who was busy turning his brain to soup with drugs and alcohol while I was serving my country in defense of that Constitution.

That's true, Henry. I'm sure those Dem's who participated will be marched off to the gulag as soon as their traitorous names are made public.

Did you check out that comparison chart in my post above? It does a pretty succinct job of stating what everyone who pays attention already knows: Conservatives are about freedom, Liberals are about death, taxes, and regulation.

Say, how do you like my new tag line? It was inspired by "Ol' Dan Foster's" tag line. It just goes to show that inspiration can come from anywhere. Heck, even Jerry Lewis was inspired to great things by the crippled and retarded!

Well, Henry, apparently the Brownshirts are still perusing their copy of the Constitution, looking for the passages I requested.
They haven't even made their usual lame-ass attempts at whining about George Bush.
They jut KNOW that Obama had the right to fire the president of GM, they just KNOW it!
Methinks they are confusing their pristine copy of the  U. S. Constitution with their well dog-eared copy of The Communist Manifesto.
