No he was calling me a bigot. If I ever thought things like that were ok then I was a bigot and I never was. You atheists should not lump all of us together, we are different people with different ways. I use to think that about your group but am now questioning it. You just keep proving to me how ignorant and arrogant you are to assume anything about me, without knowing me at all. The nerve of it

< Sigh >

He wasn't calling you a bigot, and you're still missing the point.  If he had wanted to call you a bigot, he would have said, "mcgonser is a bigot."  I've been posting with Dan long enough now to know that if he wanted to call you a bigot, he would have done it straightaway.

Remember, the context is Christianity.  Not you.

Holy dogma, Batman! A url called "jesus-is-savior (sic)" with a daughter page labeled "sodomy?" I'm gonna need my hip-waders.

Read the content.  Learn about NAMBLA.  The ACLU should not be defending these people.

So what? Do you approve of this organization?  Is it bad that the link has Jesus name in it?

It's a free speech issue.  Now you're missing Dan's point as well.  The ACLU isn't defending the ideas that NAMBLA espouses, just their right to espouse them.

You read the content. The lawsuit is based on the fact that same sex child molestation carries different penalties than opposite sex child molestation. Do you actually consider one offense to be worse than the other? Remove the knee-jerk reaction to the word "homosexual" and then tell me it's less offensive for a man to have sex with a five-year-old girl than a five-year-old boy.

This one lil' snippet from that link you provided renders the entire thing invalid for anyone with half a brain.

Thorstad, of course, is a life-long pederast and homosexual activist who clearly describes the important linkage between homosexuality and pedophilia.

Homosexual men aren't ipso facto pedophiles any more than heterosexual men are.

What I would like to know is why it is they will defend someone who wants to stop prayer but not the rights of someone to hold prayer?  Like the senior get togethers in Texas a couple of years ago where they sued to stop them from having a prayer at their get togethers because someone who wasn't even a part of the group or from the area was offended.  Things like that happen all over the place and it just isn't right.  I'm in the middle on this but the Christians definitely have a point on this.

The fact that the link has Jesus's name in it leads me to believe that civil liberties are not the primary focus of the article. Civil liberties are the primary focus of the ACLU.

No, they're not but this group is all about men making love to underaged boys. Any way you look at it they should be disbanded not defended.

Clearly they don't.  As I've suggested to you before, you should reduce your daily consumption of Billy O'.

Okay, suppose I'm a pagan who believes in animal sacrifice. Do I have the right to slaughter a couple of field mice at the pancake breakfast as my way of saying grace?

But I have to agree that those who don't participate have an unrealistic sense of their own importance when they try to stop a Christian invocation at the Knights of Columbus hog roast.

^--- In that case, they defended a pastor and his church of their right to conduct baptisms in a river that flowed through a public park.  Billy O' always paints the ACLU as an enemy of the state and an enemy of his brainwashed followers.

Stop watching him.  It'll cause irreparable drain bammage.

Of course civil liberties aren't the primary focus of the article.  The purpose of the article was to tie NAMBLA to homosexuals in general, paint homosexuals in a bad light, and advance the position of this "Christian" website that homosexuals are ipso facto pedophiles.

I'd have to see that somewhere other than on the ACLU page before I'd believe it though.  Sorry.
