I am a proud sponsor of the ACLU.  Everyone should be; at least those who cherish the freedoms we were founded on.
I wouldn't be so proud of that if I were you.  The ACLU protects NAMBLA which is a sick organization.

ACLU protects the constitution. Whether you like it or not, NAMBLA enjoys the same constitutional rights your own employer has.

Well, I can't say everything they fight for is the best cause.  They defended NAMBLA over the lawsuit just being about NAMBLA's ideas and their freedom to have them, vice supporting the ideas themselves.  I also had a problem with the FL ACLU taking the case of a muslim insisting she had the religious right to keep her burka on for her driver's license photo.  Bullshit, just like NAMBLA.  The ACLU even defends the KLAN, the most detestable group on earth.  But, those few instances are of little consequence compared to all the good fights they take on.  I will still support them and, as in any good Constitutional Republic like ours, the rights of even your most wretched enemy should be protected.  That's what they do.

You know, I bet you really resent having to drink from the same water fountain, use the same public facilities and ride in front of the bus with those colored people, too.  Most christians, and the majority of Americans thought that was OK, too, once upon a time.  But, again, we aren't the country of your mob, but the country of OUR laws.
Is this your smart ass way of calling me a bigot???? I thought you didn't call names! Well your wrong as usual but I really don't expect any more than that. Way out of line there Dan
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

Would that be synonymous with atheist?  ;D

I don't know what you're reading, but he didn't call you a name.  Clearly the intent of his post escaped you.

He's trying to explain that believers in ole' Jeebus, such as yourself, thought that the things he posted about were ok in the past.  That's what the phrase "once upon a time" means.  He wasn't calling you a bigot in any way, shape, or form.

Clearly I'm not the dense one, and my blinders were removed a long time ago.  Now I'm trying to help you with yours.

No he was calling me a bigot. If I ever thought things like that were ok then I was a bigot and I never was. You atheists should not lump all of us together, we are different people with different ways. I use to think that about your group but am now questioning it. You just keep proving to me how ignorant and arrogant you are to assume anything about me, without knowing me at all. The nerve of it

What was all that brouhaha about name calling? Turn the other cheek, sugar. And take deep cleansing breaths.
