Exactly, I wonder how many snap decisions have been made based on testosterone? ;D

I don't know what kind of decisions might need to be made on the spur of the moment.  I just know that women can piss someone off in an instant simply because she is going through pms and probably doesn't mean a word she's said OR realize she's offending others.   I'm just saying...that is the reason I am not ready for a woman to be in the white house.

As for male hormones......men have been running this country since it's inception.  We only have two genders to choose from. Male or female...the men are already there.  What is to be done about it?  And I'm sure that there have been many rash decisions based on the big bad testosterone.   Might be why we are in Iraq.

This is nothing more than my opinion, and my opinion doesn't amount to a hill of beans when it comes right down to it.
Looks like I've come full circle.

CC, if you want to sell yourself short by saying that you're less capable of making decisions or being responsible for your words or actions during your cycle, then knock your socks off, however to apply that "logic" to the entire gender IS sexist. I'm a female and it's my opinion that anyone who uses their cycle as a excuse for poor behavior is doing just that...finding an excuse to shirk responsibility. Of course it's just an opinion based on my own personal experiences.

What about the female prime minister's of other countries? Margaret Thatcher? Indira Gandhi? Golda Meir? Did they have someone step in for them once a month? What about women who've held positions of high importance in our government, our current secretary of state? I'd consider supreme court justice, senator, governor, mayor all very important positions of leadership. Are the states w/women in such positions falling apart at the seams?

No, of course they're not.

However, Bush has opened his trap and p^ssed off just about everyone.

I don't suffer from pms....but I have other hormonal situations, so I don't blame the bad crap on that. I do know that when I'm going through a hormonal situation, I am more apt to not be a pleasant person.  . But I'd much rather tick off my kids, ex-husband, best friend than the leader of another country!

The other thing is, I don't live in those other countries....so I really don't know how they were run by those leaders.  I do live in this country, and I am just not ready to trust a woman to run the whole country.

I'm not trying to give anyone any logic.  I'm just expressing my opinion.  (I'm also concerned about post-partum depression in the case of this woman who could possibly be VP.  It doesn't necessarily appear in the first few weeks after a pregnancy ends.)

And it's my opinion that your opinion is very sexist because you're assuming that all women react to hormones and/or their cycle the same way that you do.

It doesn't matter that those women are from other countries because your premise is that a women in control would be biologically incapable of performing the duties of her job at least once a month, menopausal and/or postpartum. If we were talking about how they actually "ran" those countries then we MAY have basis to compare their political career to that of a female president here, but we're not. Besides that, I also mentioned women in this country who are leaders in the executive branch of the government, governors for their states and mayors for their towns, do you think that once a month all of that goes to hell in hand-basket? You don't think that those people make major decisions that can impact a lot of lives? The Senate is there to make sure that our government don't rush into any bad legislation or laws. We have 16 women in the Senate. What about Condoleezza Rice? She's Secretary of State and serves as a member of the President's "inner cabinet" of advisers and, by law, as a member of the National Security Council.  That would be a precarious position for a woman to be in if hormones/cycle were a factor.

Seriously, I understand it's your opinion and you're entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't mean it's right.

my personal feeling for me is....if the person that wants my vote and respect... will display passion, integrity, and enthusiasism for basic conservative beliefs.....i really don't care what sex, race OR religion they are.....they will have my interest in them....

I think Margaret Thatcher is a REAL icon for conservatives.....Elizabeth Dole was a strong woman/leader.....

I didn't say it was once a month.  There are menopausal women, women on hormone medications, I was even on hormones during a pregnancy.  My opinion is I DON'T KNOW what women are affected by it, so I don't trust a woman at this point in time to run an entire country.  So far those women in other positions do not affect the WHOLE country....women in leadership do not affect the country that I live in.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, I just feel this way.  And my monthly cycle does not make me nuts, ever...I have other hormonal situations that crop up, ANY time of the month. So I'm not basing it on me......I'm basing it on being around women my whole life and seeing how they act and react.   I don't much care for men either.....they all have freaking ego's  and I wish I didn't have to make a choice of the lesser of two evils every time I vote.
Looks like I've come full circle.

abstinence is an easy thing for old folks to talk about who might be a bit too far removed from those teenaged hormones.

But I wonder if Bristol would find herself in this unenviable position if she'd had parents who took a more realistic approach to sex ed?

Of course, it seems that Gov. Palin herself may have put the cart before the horse in her younger days, so we may have a case here of where her politics dont match her personal views...I dont know.

I do know, being only a decade or so removed from my teenaged years, and having had the privelage of watching my younger siblings and their friends go through the same time, that the kids who behave most responsibly are the ones that get a real-life approach to sex at home.

what makes you think that they was NOT taught safe sex?..........my, older kids know all about it......but, I STILL emphisize abstinenance..as a mater of fact....I demand it out of them.....it worked for my two oldest sons anyway.....I (about half joking and half serious) threatened to beat them from an inch of their lives IF they ever had sex with a girl, that they had no plans on marrying...My oldest son is 21 years old...and IS in a serious relationship with a girl, whom they have discussed marriage....and, I assuming they have, but they keep their intimate feelings to themselves....and I have no, nor will not ask....
