The Troll

I know NcCain planned it the way he wanted it...I think that was incredible, not too many people get that opportunity.

McCain was no saint.  He didn't vote many times as he promised his constituents....he campaigned conservative and voted moderate.  He was known for throwing tantrums and had a notoriously volatile temper.  I believe he voted against doing away with Obamacare because it was Trumps bill and betrayed his own voters will because he had a personal grudge against Trump.  He didn't do what was best for America but his own ego!

My opinion is also that the only reason why the liberals are frothing over him now is because he hated Trump.

That is just the way I clearly see it.

"That is just the way I clearly see it?"  :huh1:   I don't think you can see anything clearly Henry.  :haha:  With you living in a brown fog.  :haha:

You really need to do some research on him. He voted against repeal of the ACA because the replacement was not acceptable to him as it did not meet the needs of those he represented; the American Citizens. His memorial service clearly demonstrated his willingness and ability to reach across the aisle and seek out common ground. The good people of the state of Arizona would beg to differ with you as they kept voting him into office; I say specifically because he DID represent their needs and desires.

So he had a temper. . . Show me someone that doesn't. (Hint: Look into the Oval Office for example).

You fail to give due weight to the mans military record and his decades of public service afterwards. No one is frothing over him, rather they are defending the good name and reputation of a true American Patriot and son of this nation. Especially when the CAD in the oval office chooses to drag his name through the mud and sully his reputation (poorly), even as he faced death.

We heard two POTUS's from opposing sides speak to his service, his ability and dogged effort to reach common ground, as well as their opinions surrounding the status of politics today and its current leadership just yesterday. And for once in nearly two decades they agreed on these things completely. So even in death John McCain continues to be of service to this nation.

John Kerry and John McCain were fiercely opposed, and yet McCain worked with Kerry to bring about normalization of the relationships between the US and Vietnam; those at whose hand he suffered torture and a lifetime of physical limitations. President Clinton stated that had the bill not had the full support of John McCain, and McCains assurances that he would defend the POTUS if he signed the bill, he'd have never signed it.

I find it shameful that so many in this nation look down upon John McCain and his service to this nation, based upon talking points rooted in untruths and half-truths, uttered by angry and butt hurt individuals who have personally sacrificed nothing for a cause greater than themselves.  (I don't mean this to be directed toward you personally).

I never voted for him because the one time I had the opportunity to was when he chose Palin as his VP. A mistake he committed and acknowledged publicly.  And yes, he made mistakes, but he owned them and apologized for them publicly and took his lumps. And kept getting re-elected.
Thank you!  :smitten:

Indeed. I just learned of this on my trip back home this evening. . . So very sad that 2018 takes another musician, and one whose work I was able to see and hear at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just this past July within the Jefferson Airplane exhibit; inducted in 1996.

The creators of the soundtrack to our lives are leaving us in increasing numbers. . .  :'(

I hope Trump doesn't last that long.  I don't want to have to wait until I'm 80 to piss on his grave.

I hope he lasts long enough for the next presidential election cycle...and we elect a Democratic president.  Then Drumpf and Pence can be thrown into the dustbin of history.

I wasn't necessarily a fan, but have done several of their songs over the years.  I suspect you have too.

Good to see you back around Bo.

I was a fan and have recently been doing "All Your Love" again.  Those left-handed, upside down, gitfiddlers sure have a unique sound that I've always liked.  Big fan of Albert King too.  Used to spend hours playing to his "I'll Play the Blues for You" album on Stax with an Ibanez Rocket Roll, Flying V clone.  Right handed, right side up, of course.

We've lost so many of those old greats.   :'(

Don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I completely had enough of the adulations over that guy.  I understand that having Drumpf in the White House has made us long for somewhat saner presidents even if they were still cretins, and GHWB was one, just like his son.  The family lineage is corrupt and I had no use for any of them.  Let's not forget that just because he died.
