Everytime I read stuff like this, Benji gets treated just a lil' extra special lol For example, today I took him for an extremely long hike and a swim. I even got in and wrestled with him which I never do. I mean wrestle, not get in the river. lol He had a blast. When we got home, I gave him a can of his favorite "junk" dog food and now he's snoozing peacefully with his head sharing my lap w/the laptop.

Just because they don't speak our language doesn't mean they don't understand.

I currently do not have a dog, but I think I am going to be on the market come this next summer when school lets out.  I want my kids to be there during the day to work with him/her.  My wife is set on getting a goldendoodle or a labrodoodle, because of their non-shedding issues....When I see pics of ex's dog, my heart leans that direction....there is something bout a german sheperd that is appealing to me.  We had a Golden Retriever in the past and I loved that dog, he was good.  My wife wants an indoor dog that doesn't shed.

Any suggestions or stories about the "doodle" dogs?

Not from me lol I really don't have any experience with them, but I'd be careful re: temperament. I Haven't researched it, but something makes me think that poodles (standard and miniature) are not tolerent. Although the Lab portion would probably mellow that out some. I've had a lab and retriever and the retriever sheds less than she ever did. I have to say that I'm a big dog fan and I'm very partial to the retrievers. Lab, Golden, Chesapeake...In fact, my next dog will be a chesie.

I love cocker spaniels, but they take a lot of time grooming and shed quite a bit. They are very tolerant of kids and other animals, at least the ones we had were. The doodles are cute and I only know one person with one and they say it is very friendly.

Had a part cocker one time, same kind of hair.  He got in to a whole lot of cockle burrs, it took days for us to get out all of them.  Had a German short hair pointer.  Smart, kind to the cat,  just loved him, he loved the boy and us and he got hit by a car and died.  We still miss him.

We just finished having a fantastic party at our home celebrating my oldest son graduating from Ball State. He finished with achieving the Dean's list.  He is in his fifth year of the National Gaurd and is conteplating volunteering to go active in the Middle East.  His fiance has one more year of post grad school, so he would like to do this.  I have other wishes, but I respect him to make his own decisions and I am extremly proud of him.  1 down and 4 to go.

Congratulations to your son and your family for his graduation, Henry. It takes a lot to get a kid through college any more. Hope he has a long and prosperous life.

Congrats to you and your son (and the whole family) on your son's graduation.

to be honest I can't say for sure, but that is what she calls it.  She has to take an extra year of school to recieve a special diploma.  She is a great kid and very smart, she is going to be a chemistry teacher.

Thanks guys, as I am sure you guys already know, but it makes being a parent worth everything in the world when you witness your own turning into a fantastic adult.

Post graduate school is generally used in this country to refer to an advanced degree of learning, IE Masters or Doctorate degree programs.

The hundreds, of advanced degree holders that I have come in contact with in my line of endeavor have NEVER referred to grad school as "post grad school" except for doctoral work.

I asked many in the last few days, and they had never heard grad school referred to as "post grad school," always "grad school" (which is what I and all my colleagues called it back in the day).

Even when doing postdoc work (internships), we never referred to it as "post grad" unless it was beyond a master's degree.

I believe it may be a local dialect thing to tell you the truth. Most people in the midwest refer to it as you posted above, but there are some regions of this country where it is referred to as Hank listed it.

To be honest about it, I never even paid it much attention until you posted the inquiry. :D

ok, i heard this the other day:  citizen A goes to work every day in your state.  citizen A pays taxes to the state that pay the salary of state employees.   state employees pay union dues.  unions support democrats, therefore states want to hire more employees.

along the same line of thinking:  citizen A goes to Taco Bell for lunch every day.  Taco Bell pays taxes to the state that pays the salary of state employees.  state employees pay union dues.  unions support democrats, therefore states want to hire more employees.  So dont eat at Taco Bell unless you are a democrat.  Or hungry.

just throwin it out there.... ;D

Republicans eat steak and sea food they don't eat tacos so what's the problem.  But Sweet Heart the states are destroying the unions so the state employees don't have to pay union dues.  Just ask Mitch the governor of the State of Indiana and Scott Walker of Wisconsin.  Just throwin that out   All all you have to do is watch the news. :grin2:
