My man needs to MAKE UP HIS MIND AND KEEP IT THERE! Grrr....so tired of going back and forth, to trade in my Accord for an Odyssey or keep the Accord. It changes every FREAKING DAY.

Wait until next year and buy a VW Jetta with a diesel engine. 62MPG!  8)

Really? I will pass that along.

We've been looking at Hybrids. 2008 is supposed to introduce a Toyota Sienna mini van Hybrid. I just said the Odyssey because, despite its not being hybrid, it still has decent gas mileage and I love it.

Yes really. The only reason they are not offered int he US this year is because they don't meet the stricter environmental standards. They have committed to meeting them by EOY or first of next year.

The biggest concern we have is the size of a vehicle.  With three boys, the back seat gets crowded quickly.

Jetta has a four door model and is quite roomy.  If you see a vee-dub dealer have a gander at the gas models they are offering. But wait for the diesel. 62 MPG is very hard to beat. . . Even against the Hybrids!

Yeah that's no joke!

I looked at a Jetta back when we bought the Honda. The problem back then was that our incomes were low (about $55k combined) and Aaron's credit was a nightmare. Mine was better, but not good enough for their financing. Now its a different story, but I just haven't ventured down to a VW dealer.

I'm exhausted. I've been job hunting since 9:30 am. And some on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Its tiring.

Don't get discouraged if it takes a little time for these folks to get back to you. They typically take anywhere from 3 - 6 weeks sometimes. . .

I know for sure they are looking to fill those administrator roles asap.

I'm telling yah, as soon as I get my truck paid off I am buying one of those Jetta diesels. I mean, you cannot beat that mileage. Europe has been running diesels for years. . . They've known for a lot longer than America the value to be had in a diesel powered vehicle. The engine typically lasts for a LONG time, outlasting gasoline powered vehicles by decades sometimes.

I am super pissed that they aren't offering the diesel right now because of the new environmental restrictions. Otherwise I'd likely have already bought one. But since it isn't until the 2008 model year that they'll be available in the US, I'll wait for it. THAT will be my commuting vehicle and my truck will move to RV status. BOTH diesels.

When I saw their mileage verses the hybrids it was a no brainer for me. I put a lot of miles on my vehicles and diesel just makes sense due to its durability.

I do, too. I bought my car brand new in May 2003, with something like 70 miles on it, and now it has 105,000.

Soo...if they're coming out in '08 do you think we'll be seeing them on the lots come August/September?

Told Aaron about the Jetta. He was very pleased. Of course, we'll still need something large like a van, but we are in the market for 2 vehicles...
