I do, too. I bought my car brand new in May 2003, with something like 70 miles on it, and now it has 105,000.

Soo...if they're coming out in '08 do you think we'll be seeing them on the lots come August/September?

They've commited to meeting the new environmental requirements by the 2008 model year, however last I heard they were ahead of schedule and that we may just see them this fall. . . so yeah I think they'll be availble!

pffft, if Jason is any indication of what Italian boys are like, you can keep them.
Looks like I've come full circle.

What is they say, Italian men are lovers?  But Italians have great tempers?  I don't think I'm profiling.  He's a lover all right, as often as possible, with whoever. And his temper?  I'm repairing things he broke while mad.  Maybe it's a good thing he's gone.

Anger management issues are not restricted to men of Italian descent; in fact mountain Williams, French, Polish, Spanish, Slav's, Irish, Jewish, ET AL, all experience these issues at a fairly common instance of occurrence. One does not experience a higher level of incident with this challenge than another.

So how is that statement not profiling when you utilize his genealogy or race to broadly paint all who may share it as possessing the same opportunities for improvement?

Would it not be better to say "Jimmie Jones" has a temper, breaks things when he is angry, and is easily moved to anger? Thus you are describing the individual's challenges and not an entire race. When you use descriptors that are all encompassing that is profiling.

You want anger? Try German/Quakers. Freakin Adolfs, all of them. But I love mine, nonetheless.

Throw in a little Blackfoot and German and I'd say you have the perfect mix.  8)

I didn't profile a race.  Are Italians a different race? I didn't realize that national heritage was considered race.  At any rate, I'm not the profiler, it was already profiled.  Jason just fits it.  I've also had bad luck with Marines.  So I won't date or marry any more of those either.  I think they pick up traits that are unpleasant to me.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Yes you did. Italian Americans, and now Americans in general (USMC to be specific). They're all human beings and there are bad apples in every bunch. It isn't a matter of "heritage", race, or creed. It is a matter of environment (and genetic predisposition in some cases), but none should be catagorized in a general statement that bases itself upon their nationality, race, or creed; including gender.

What if someone made a statement that all jobless women were (fill in your favorite here)? Would that be fair? No. . .

You use it, you endorse it, you own it.

For example, I met one of my future neighbors last week and he happens to be of color. We were talking about the neighborhood and he came right out and accused his neighbor (not me, but one living right next to him) of being a racist. Granted, he related several examples of actions / statements that would support his position. But then in the very next moment he is making derrogatory blanket comments surrounding hispanic workers that are performing a vital function to the construction process. Now, if he wanted to critique their work then he could have just stated that the men/women that are doing (whatever) are not performing up to expectations. But no, he has to bring nationality into the statement which infers that all of the nationality are in possession of bad work habits. How does this make him any different than his neighbor? He isn't. . .
