Would someone out there please tell me what the Republican Party has done for America and what Republican president has given America a balanced budget.

Actually, the last time the budget was truely balanced, meaning the US had a surplus, was in 1957 and Dwight Eisenhower was president. A Republican.

There were three recessions during Eisenhower's administration; the first in July 1953 through May 1954, then in August 1957 through April 1958, and again in April 1960 through February 1961. Real GDP growth averaged just 2.5% over those eight years. Eisenhower allowed the recessions to occur and did nothing to attempt to reduce the negative impact of them upon the citizens of the nation.

He refused any attempt to reduce taxes because they had wars to pay for. And due to the proliferation of government propaganda that blanketed the airwaves and media, and a compliant nation and congress more than willing to suck it all up unquestionably, he got his way.

Then the average citizen began the age of enlightenment in this nation. . .

I can remember the Eisenhower recession in 1961, it was really deep.  I joined the army to keep from being laid off and maybe lose my seniority.  The Republican are really good at handling money.  They spend it like drunken sailors and give all they can to the Super Rich.  Damn their good people, just look at the trouble that George W. got us into

So, in effect what you are saying is that Eisenhower raped the American public to the tune of 2.2 trillion dollars in 1956, and 2.6 trillion dollars in 1957. Instead of returning those funds to the American citizens in the form of refunds, tax reductions, or economic stimulus in order to lessen the impact of the recessions, he hoarded the cash to spend elsewhere?  (Anyone want to bet it was on defense spending in order to fight the commies?)

No. It was asked when the last time a republican president gave America a balanced budget and I answered. Simple as that.

Thank you Nighthawk, I am going to have to remember to call you by you full name,  I sure don't want to call Hawk, like chicken hawk Henry.

You finally gave me the answer I was looking for.  All I remember about Eisenhower was his recessions.  All of us young people wanted a job and there weren't any.

After a little research on how did Eisenhower balance the budget.  He cut military spending and had a 91% tax on the super rich.  Right now we are spending billions on the military fighting a bunch of rag heads with rifles and some hand held rockets.  And the tax on the super rich is 35%.  It sure is not hard to see how much control the Super Rich has over the American government, The Republican Party and why we are so far in debt.  Thank you, you seen to know your history.  :salute:

Troll you might want to look at the tax on the super rich too and remember what you stated about there being no jobs.

Hell make me an millionaire and I would be grad to pay the old tax rate.  Are you saying that 35% is too much for Billionaires to pay.

The damn trickle down theory did not work, one of it's creators David Stockman said that.  They knew it wouldn't work when they put it in to effect.

The Super Rich do not create jobs.  Business and Corporations produce the jobs and the middle class creates the market.  But the business and the corporations have shipped our jobs over seas.   With no jobs there is no money to buy anything.  If they had the money all they can buy is foreign products which does not do anything for America bottom line and produce American jobs.  :@#%&:

God Damn, where is your brain, it has to be up where the sun don't shine.  I would be funny if you weren't serious.  A solid bone head.

That was a really good post ... until the last paragraph. Why do you do that? Can't you debate without that personal put-down nonsense?

Though I did not agree with his outtake, It really was a great post......and then the backlash.  Troll, I would take you more serious if you would drop the crap.  I know I was guilty of falling into that game too......I have decided to not play that game anymore.  I have more important things to do than, bicker and play the 2nd grade stuff.

With that said, what do you mean the "super rich" do not create jobs?......what or who do you consider the "Super Rich"?
