As of Friday evening, the wife and I are empty nesters!  Son #2 bought a house and got moved in.  Now we are free to enjoy all sorts of decadence without interruption.  Barking and yelping are exra.

Well, if the bastards don't change their minds and decide to keep me, I will be retired soon, with a large chuck of severance pay to boot.  I will eventually do something to earn more money, but not until we have relocated closer to Indy.  Been trying to do that for 3 years or more, and now it's finally gaining some momentum.  Pension wise, going now or 5 years from now was not going to make much difference, so this is going to be a good deal.

I think I hear some Johnny Paycheck singing, "Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin here no more..." :smitten:

I'm glad this is turning out to be a good thing.

Well, that's the only catch, there is no definite time set yet.  All I was told was, "in a few months."  It could be soon, it could be later.  No matter, the light at the end is NOT a freight train.

Yes, "da love shack" will be going away after we get moved.  Since it will just be the two of us, we will have a new love shack.  Chicka waka, chicka waka boom   We would like to be moved by the end of the year, but that is pretty optimistic.  I am guessing next spring at best, as home sales in our area are a little on the slow side.

And yes PH, I am looking forward to burning up some asphalt with you after we get moved.  We are looking at western Hamilton county, so we won't be far away.

Took a little ride on the Goldwing last Friday.  I went 430 miles on a loop down to Santa Claus IN, over to IL Route 1, back north to Chrisman, IL, then east to Dana.  I left a little after 7 AM, and returned home right at 5 PM.  It was a good day to be out and about, but it did get a little warm by early afternoon.  Then I met the wife in Terre Haute for dinner, adding another 70 miles, giving me a total for the day of 490 miles.  Good thing I have unlimited mileage on the warranty, as this thing just begs to be ridden long and far. :smitten:

While I didn't get that many miles in, I did take a nice ride with a group of friends that took us up near Wabash and a nearby body of water. Instead we played on the water for a large portion of the day, and then road back. . . A bunch of them got fried though, but not me or my wife!
