As I made my way across Indiana 26 moving through Hartford City, why did Barry White start running through my head?

After spending the night in "da love shack," I headed towards work with good intentions of going in.  Problem was, I was on the Goldwing.  I stopped for a bathroom break, then made the decision to go ride all day.  Went down to Bedford before I turned to the west, then back north to home.  About 300 miles for the day, and like PH, I found it very invigorating and therapeutic.

I only made about 250, but it could have easily been twice that. . . If I didn't have a pot roast in the crock pot it would have been. . . But tomorrow is another day. . . and we're having leftovers  :icon_twisted: (And the last riding day for at least a week out this way. . . Rain, snow, cold all rolling in Saturday afternoon). . . :icon_evil:

Hadn't heard that about the weather.  The kids are heading back to Tn Sat so I hope it stays north so it won't be nasty for them going back.

They better leave early as opposed to later in the day. . .

the report I just saw says it is supposed to be 56 degrees on sunday with a low of 39 and rain, but it does not seem to be very bad at all....not for this time of year.

They were saying rain snow mixture and possible freezing rain. . . I stopped listening to them though. . .

We did a short 100 mile or so loop yesterday.  Not what I would have liked to have done, but better than a stick in the eye.  Co-pilot was not up to speed when the clouds and cold front moved in, so we cut it a little short.

Yeah, had I not been solo it would have been similar. I had to break out the leather mid ride, but found it very enjoyable to say the least. . . I need an oil change though. . . soon. . .

Got another 250 miles in today. Windy as hell out this way though, and I encountered several sustained winds that required me to compensate for them considerably.

I took a partial urban approach today though, doing the loop (465) around Indy in its entirety, before jumping off I 69 @ 96th street and making my way back north via secondary / rural roads. I stopped for a break at home then went on another short jaunt with by BIL north of Alex. It was his first ride of the season and we had to stop a couple of times to address some things trying to come off his bike, an older soft tail custom. We got the bugs worked out and it was smooth sailing from there.

LOT of sand still on the roads though, so watch yourself when riding two abreast. I stopped a couple of times and felt my foot slide on the sand along the shoulder side of the road. Good thing I was wearing heavy cleated riding boots. Had I been wearing something with a smoother bottom I'd have found myself doing some bike wrangling almost for sure! And there cruiser bikes ain't no fun to wrangle with!  :spooked:

I rode to Terre Haute and back yesterday for my aunt's chemo treatment.  I had hoped to get in a little more riding on the way back, but ran out of time.  I know what you mean about the sand on the roads, it is terrible.  And now the DOT folks are out sealing cracks with tar and copious ammounts of sand   It is so dusty out, I thought were in the middle of August.  But the good news is, NO SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
