                                                         Reggie Wayne...162 Yards

Week 2:  Colts 27   Dolphins 23   <---  Manning had 303 yards with a 133.9 QB rating...
                                                         Dallas Clark 183 yards....

Week 3:  Colts 31   Cardinals 10  <---  Manning threw 379 yards and 4 touchdowns...
                                                         Reggie Wayne 126 yards..

Week 4:  Colts 34   Seahawks 17 <---  Manning threw 353 yards and 2 touchdowns...

Week 5:  Colts 31   Titans 9         <---  Manning threw 309 yards and 3 touchdowns...

Week 6:  (Bye)

Week 7:  Colts 42   Rams 6         <---  Manning....three more touchdowns..

Week 8:  Colts 18   49ers 14       <---  Manning threw 327 yards and 4 touchdowns...
                                                         Reggie Wayne - 147 yards...

Week 9:  Colts 20   Texans 17      <--- Manning threw 318 yards and Dallas Clark had 119 receiving

Week 10: Colts 35  Patriots 34     <---  Manning threw 379 yards and 4 touchdowns...

Week 11:  Colts 17  Ravens 15     <--- Manning threw 299 yards..

Week 12:  Colts 35  Texans 27      <--- Again, Texans are 8-7.  Barely a winning record....and the Colts WON!

Week 13:  Colts 27  Titans  17      <---- Only a 10 point win against a team that has been competitive all year   and the COLTS WON.

Week 14:  Colts 28  Broncos 16    <---- A win, but again against a mediocre team.  The Broncos are 8-7...and the COLTS WON!

Week 15:  Colts 35  Jaguars 31     <---- to a team who is ALWAYS ready to play the colts, but yet ...THE COLTS WON!

The bottom line is....the Colts have played 23 season games in a row and have WON!......very tough to do playing ANY NFL teams...because they are a very, very good team, lead by the BEST QB in NFL....

Good teams find a way to win...and THAT is what the Colts have done ALL year....

Their Defense is 5th in the AFC in giving up points per game.....at 18.
3rd in touchdowns behind the Jets and Ravens.
                        5th in Sacks...
                        2nd in tackles...

On Offense they are 3rd in total yards..
1st in passing yards...in the NFL.
                              2nd in scoring...
1st in touchdowns....(2nd in the NFL)
                              2nd in receiving...
and they have the number one Offensive Line in the NFL....giving up only 12 sacks for the year.

Again HH, against teams with largely losing records.   You can shine when you're not playing anybody decent.  We saw what happened to them when they played the Patriots.  They were going to lose had Belichick not made that stupid call.  And they've squeaked by against less.  If I were there in Indy, I would make a friendly wager with you.   I don't see the Colts making it to the Super Bowl.  I see them making an exit possibly prior to the AFC championship game.

I'm not a betting guy...and I know ANYTHING can happen, once playoff's start...one can argue that Belichick MADE that stupid call, because he DID NOT want to give the ball BACK to Manning....because the Colts know how to WIN....all I am saying is,....this team is damn good and they know how to win.....when they HAVE to....and they SHOULD have played like it yesterday....

and statisticaly they are tops in the league....

I think San Diego and New England are Always a threat....and I would not get cocky against any team they will face....but, I think they have proved they can beat ANYBODY

The only thing that's good for them is that it's a certainty that won't see the Chargers in the divisional round.

have you looked at the Charger schedule this year....five of their wins was by a touchdown or less....they beat Oakland (5-10) twice and KC (3-12) twice...they squeaked pass Dallas, Phil, and Cin...the only REAL tough teams they have faced.....so, the same argument can be made against them....

don't get me wrong...I think SD is a very good football team...but it is not like they are BETTER than the colts.

Let's also look at the Pats' season to date and who they've played:

Week 1:  Pats 25   Buf 24    <---  SQEEEEEEK!

Week 2:  Pats 9   Jets 16   <---  Lost to a mediocre team....

Week 3:  Pats 26   Atlanta 10  <---  Beat a mediocre team.....

Week 4:  Pats 27   Baltimore 21 <---  Sqeaked past a medioce team (8-7)

Week 5:  Pats  17  Denver 20         <---  Lost.

Week 6:  Pats  59  Tenn  0             <---  Nice...

Week 7:  Pats 35   TB 7        <---  A pattern develops.  Whipping another crappy team with a losing record.  Bucs are 3-12

Week 8:  (Bye)

Week 9:  Pats 27   Miami 17      <--- Again, squeaking by in a close game against a mediocre team, with losing record.

Week 10: Pats 34  Colts 35     <--- Blame it on Bilicheck if you want....they STILL lost

Week 11:  Pats 31  Jets 17     <--- Squeaked by again against a team with barely a winning record.  The Jets are 8-7

Week 12:  Pats 17  New Orleans 38      <--- GOT spanked on National TV.. to a REAL football team...

Week 13:  Pats 21  Miami  22      <---- Lost to a team with a losing record.

Week 14:  Pats 20  Carolina 10    <---- A win, but again against a losing team.  The Panthers are 7-8.

Week 15:  Pats 35  Jaguars 7     <---- beat another team with a losing record...7-8.

From the above, in the 15 weeks that the Pats ahve NOT went undefeated, and yet, who did they really play?  They had an easy schedule and of the 10 games they won, only 1 was against teams with real winning records, the rest were against teams that barely have a winning record, or were against crappy teams with losing records.

I'm sorry, but given that, I don't see how they claim can be made that they're the best team in the AFC.  Not by a long shot.  I see trouble for them in the playoffs.  Like PH said, depending on how the chips fall, they may go out in divisional round.

Sorry HH, the Pats aren't my team.  I don't like cheaters and that's what I think they are.

I think the Chargers are going to the Super Bowl from the AFC this year.  I could be wrong; we'll see in a few weeks.   ;D

I'm outta' here later to watch the last Monday night game of the season.   I always hate the last MNF game of the season because I know it'll be 8 months or so before they're back.    :(

In the local press I have read where some are asking for a refund from this last home game. The comments for and against are across the range of possibilities, but the most common against it has been it is the owners/managements job to make the call surrounding who plays, etc., and the usual fan degrading flotsam.

I'm sorry, but once you forced the citizens of this state to pay for your stadium, and suckered them into a sweetheart deal that pretty much rides them hard and puts them away wet, I have to think that with those sacrifices comes a voice in the day to day operation. . . (A small one but a voice none-the-less).

We're paying for your palace and providing you with a generous year round revenue stream. The least you could do is provide the fans with what they paid to see; the best you've got. Unless of course this whole stadium deal was nothing more than a ploy to rip off the taxpayers in exchange for nothing! (You make the call).

you know PH, I tend to agree with you...........IF, they had finished off the season...16 and 0 then lost in the playoffs....I think the FANS would STILL been extremely satisfied with their Colts....especially those who are PAYING to watch them.....I know I personally would have been exteremly pleased...and not only have they let the fans down, they have let the players down...they will NEVER know, "how good" they were....IF, they was good enough to endure such a record.

NOW, that they BLEW that opportunity...........they damn well better win the SB....or they SHOULD be giving refunds to the extremely loyal fans.

I know one thing, I had better not hear/read about them boo-hooing it up when the Luke is filled with the visiting teams fans, or when the season ticket holders refuse to fork over the double+ ticket prices for the ONE playoff game they are going to play this year. . .

My wife and I removed our names from the season ticket list once the plans on financing for the Luke were revealed. This last game just validates our thinking surrounding the ownership/management of the Colts; one greedy bunch of SOB's.

for me personaly, I WISHED they had gone for the undefeated season.....but, I also have a great deal of respect for Bill Polian.....I think, in hindsite, he may have done things differently...but this man has done NOTHING but wonderful things for the Indianapolis Colts....

He developed the most winning NFL team of the decade...
He has won the NFL's Executive of the Year award 5 times...
He brought us talent such as Peyton Manning, Edgerrin James, Joseph Addai, Reggie Wayne, Brandon Stokley Dwight Freeney, Bob Sanders, Jeff Saturday, Dominic Rhodes, Terrence Wilkins, Raheem Brock, James Mungro, Gary Brackett, Ben Utecht, Ryan Lilja, Melvin Bullitt, Mike Vanderjagt, Adam Vinatieri and of course, Coach Tony Dungy.

He has given us;
6 Division Titles (9 playoff appearances in 11 years)...
1 AFC title game loss...
1 Super Bowl Championship...

We also have a record 27 wins in a row...
A QB who may very well be the Greatest QB to ever play...

And as far as Jim Irsay, he, unlike his father, leaves much of player and game, decisions to be made by his General Manager and Coach...and even though building Lucas Oil Stadium has been very controversial, it will host the Men's and Women's NCAA Basketball Tournaments and will serve as the back up host for all NCAA Final Four Tournaments. The stadium will host the Super Bowl for the 2012 season (Super Bowl XLVI) and has a potential economic impact estimated at $286,000,001. It will also host the Drum Corps International World Championships from 2009 until 2018....

So all in all, I think Jim Irsay and Bill Polian have been a very positive for the city of Indianapolis and the Colts fans of Indiana...So, maybe this last decision to NOT go for the PERFECT season may NOT have been a popular one, but the man who has done SO much for this team and it's fans, might deserve a break, because we may very well be on our way to our second Super Bowl....and THAT, is what every team plays for, in the first place.

And he also brought us the "to hell with the fans" strategy.

As for the hosting of all those events, any idea just who it is that is going to benefit the most from all of that? (Hint: It isn't the city, or taxpayers, nor even the CIB).

The Colts will derive just under 100% of the profits from all revenues generated by the stadium, including parking and food sales, beer, sales, etc., etc., etc.! The only thing the citizens get is the collateral damage!

but that is NOT Irsay's fault in any way shape or form....He gave $100 million for using it 19 days a year.....Blame the politicians for this...but NOT Irsay....at least that is the way I clearly see it.

50/50 blame on both sides of the fence in this one; and both are 100% to blame for the fleecing of the taxpayers. That crap they just pulled is salt in the gaping wound that stadium left.
