Carrie Prejean settled her lawsuit against Miss USA Pageant official on Tuesday.
Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- The sudden end to a legal battle between dethroned Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant officials was prompted by the revelation of a "sex tape," according to a source familiar with the lawsuits' settlement.
Prejean was fired in June after lingerie-modeling photos of her emerged that pageant officials said were a breach of her contract. Prejean sued the pageant in August, arguing her firing was religious discrimination because of her opposition to same-sex marriage.
Pageant officials countersued last month, demanding their former beauty queen repay $5,200 in pageant money spent for her breast implants and give them all proceeds from a book she's written.
A settlement of both lawsuits was signed in New York Tuesday, but no details were made public. Lawyers and parties for each side were bound by a confidentiality pledge, according to the source.
The veil of secrecy was partially lifted Wednesday after celebrity gossip Web site TMZ reported the deal was sealed after pageant lawyers presented an "extremely graphic" home video involving Prejean.
TMZ Managing Editor Harvey Levin said during a webcast Wednesday that he obtained the Prejean video during the summer, but found it "too racy" to post on his site. He indicated Prejean was alone in the video.
The source with knowledge of the settlement talks told CNN those details were accurate.
Prejean's lawyer, Charles LiMandri, responded with a short statement issued through an employee at his law office. "It's a confidential settlement, and he can't discuss it," the statement said.
Several calls and e-mail to Prejean's publicist were not returned Wednesday.
Prejean's tell-all book hits bookstores next week, and she is scheduled for media interviews to promote it.
Pageant spokesman Kenn Henman said Tuesday the settlement means all lawsuit demands are dropped.
The pageant had claimed that the contract she signed when she entered their competition last year gave the pageant the rights to anything she wrote. The settlement ended that claim.

Looks like ole' Carrie wasn't too squeaky clean herself.
Guess the one thing we can say for certain is that it wasn't a lesbian sex tape. Gawd don't like them gays ya' know.

Most of them home video's find their way onto the internet eventually. . .
I guess it just proves the old saying "never write anything down or take a picture of anything that you don't want on the front page of the newspaper". So, if what she did in the privacy of her home is important to the public that should apply to everyone, like marijuana, drunkenness, or any other kind of thing thought to be improper or remotely illegal?

I would not go that far. . . :spooked: In fact I'd have to say hell no! But, when you run for a high profile office or present yourself as an example of something, you had better be prepared to defend your actions and choices. . . Especially if you have documented them in some way. . .
She presented herself as a good looking woman who did not believe in gay marriage and believed in presenting a "modest" public presentation (how that jibes with beauty contests is beyond me). I agree the modeling pics probably were cause enough for her dismissal, but I think they were just looking for a way to get rid of her because of the gay marriage thing. The "home movies" were meant to be private and I think most people would not want their entire private life exposed and have some things that would embarrass them.
Probably Bill Clinton expected that his encounters would be a part of his private life that he didn't expect to be exposed. (In more ways than one. )

No, no leaves left, but plenty of curves, hills, and valleys along state road 135 going through Story Indiana. Man, what a wonderful ride it was. 350 miles round trip, and I never got cold until I was about 5 miles from the house on the return.
We stopped in this bar in Nashville on the way down for lunch, and on the way back for an adult beverage. Both times the lot was filled with at least 200 motorcycles, and every single one of the Harley-Davidsons! I should have took pictures. . .

And the answer that she probably didn't want to provide was this:
"I settled because I had a lil' tape come to light." ;D

She wasn't being asked to discuss the terms of the settlement, nor was she being asked anything that would have caused her to be in violation of the confidentiality of the settlement. The tape exists. She's only going places with people who buy into the bullshit that she's somehow being persecuted for her religious beliefs. You want me to shut up about Christians? Then let all the Christians STFU about how other people should live their lives, stop advocating discrimination, turn their attention to some introspection, and clean up their own acts first. SO MANY of these outspoken Christian assholes who are running around telling everyone else how to live are guilty themselves of some depravity in their own lives. Maybe you should be watching more of your own favorite disinformation news source. Here she is openly discussing the tape with her bud Sean Hannity (who just so happened to write the forward for her book). She just didn't like it because it was Larry King, and not the confines of a comfy and close ally such as Shamnity who she knew wouldn't take her out of her comfort level.

me. As the recipient of a similar gag order following a hefty settlement on a sexual battery case, I can tell you that the ban is against discussing terms and amounts, not the reasons for the lawsuit. "What" is banned, not "why."
I really don't care one way or the other I'm just sick of the double standard which seems to be running amok. Sorry, but you are way off. First, I don't care if she is against gay marriage. I am against christian marriage by the state, myself. Why should gays want a christian marriage. The state should not be involved, at all. Civil Unions should be the only legally recognized social contract between two adults, nothing else.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally somebody gets it! The only reason to have a "marriage" recognized by a government entity is to protect property and children of the union. Y'all can sacrifice chickens or jump over the broom or whatever your religion calls for if you like. Government shouldn't be involved in that at all (remember that separation of church & state clause?), but the contract must be signed to legalize the partnership -- just like LLP's and corporations. If the two of you don't plan to buy a house (or accumulate other joint assets) or have kids, there is no reason for the contract. But why can't you perform any hocus pocus you like to formally declare your commitment?

Ya'll are going in circles and using the same old dead arguments and put downs that you're hearing on the MSM. She was not being hypocritical because she didn't talk about gay marriage and then go out and have a gay relationship. She said she was against gay marriage, which a lot of people are, and did not put gay's down or ridicule them just said she was against gay marriage. She is neither dumb nor is she a hypocrite for having an opinion which some do not agree with. That question should never have been asked in the first place let alone that idiot getting on TV and saying those things he did about her. At no time did she say I'm against sex or premarital sex. That wasn't what they asked her about so why make a big deal out of that tape. That is my opinion and the way I see things. In case you hadn't noticed anyone that has an opinion different than that of the left is suddenly an idiot or worse even if they happen to have an above average IQ. So how is that possible? They are also hate mongers, trouble makers, and a threat to society. What is going on? Heck they're even turning on their own when they don't agree. Ya'll really need to take those blinders off.

For years I've been telling people that marriage isn't about love, religion, or any of those other concepts. It's contract law. Marriage is a legal contract which is basically concerned with property rights - which oddly enough includes the progeny.
Unfortunately you get yahoo's who want to say marriage is the construct of whatever supernatural uber-man (usually Caucasian) they believe in and the thread which holds society (translated = Caucasian, x-tian, PWM-dominated, etc.) together when that is a far cry from the fact of the matter.
If they actually understood the marriage contract, they would understand why no one, or groups of people, of legal age and sound mind should be denied the ability to enter into it if they choose.

Ya know no one has ever really answered a question I've asked in a lot of these threads. Why, just because someone has a different opinion than you, are they automatically tagged as stupid or an idiot? I don't think you're stupid or ignorant because your opinion or beliefs happen to be different than mine, a little strange maybe but not stupid. Muslims believe differently than me but I don't automatically tag them as stupid for their beliefs I just don't see things the way they do. Same with gay's, people who have different political ideas, different lifestyles, whatever. Just because someone doesn't think or believe the way you do means they're an individual with independent thought processes who doesn't view things the same way you do. They've had different life experiences which means they have a different view of the they world and even though it may not seem right to you it is their view and they're entitled to it and it makes them neither stupid or an idiot. What is it that you don't understand about people are less receptive to your side of the discussion and less apt to remain in the discussion if they're talked down to and belittled for their opinions. I thought discussions were to present each side of something not to demand that the other side see things the same. I look at your side and you look at mine and we/you either see a point or we/you don't and we/you either believe what we/you've presented or we/you don't. We/you say why you don't/do agree and move on. I'll be amazed if I ever actually get a sensible answer but I can't help but try because I'd really like to know.

It isn't just a difference of opinion that makes christians out to be morons, it is that they ARE morons. Now, having said that, they really aren't morons, just very dishonest to themselves and everyone else. You have to constantly lie to yourself to keep believing the crap you do, and that makes you very morally bankrupt, as stated earlier. You can't be trusted as you constantly lie to yourself, and everyone else. Good for shock therapy though. . .

Henry Hawk don't pay them no mind. That's what the devil does when someone stands up against him. She spoke out against depraved behavior and Satin sent his hounds from hell to further malign her. It's the spirit of evil that makes these people and others like them froth at the mouth with hatred.
Wow Doc. You sound like you really believe in those devils and demons running around in your world. For you, and Hank, the broad is goofy and I agree with her on the gay marriage thing. Gays no more need to enter into a religious marriage for the state any more than any other couples do. Its a religious sham, ESPECIALLY since you fuks claim the religious definition of it; one man, one woman (except of course for your brothers in jesus who claim; one man, several women (mostly children).
You have a very strange view of mainstream religion.
I'd really like to know just what "mainstream" religion's tenets are.
Not far from my house there are four churches: methodist, catholic, presbyterian, and baptist.
All disagree with each other on most points (or so it seems when talking to the members of the congregations).
I can depend on a donnybrook when religion rears its head down at the local restaurant.
Makes me wonder just what is "mainstream" about any religion.
Oops. Forgot to include the jewish synagogue, which is about 18 miles away.
I went looking and what I've come up with is that "mainstream religion" is determined by politics. Including government politics, not just politics within the church. They use "mainstream religion" as a form of mind control, and it is found in every religion no matter how far apart each one differs.
Now whether or not I agree with that definition....I do believe that anyone or any entity that works hard at persuading you believe what they believe, is interested in controlling your thoughts and actions. I prefer to believe how I want, and call myself spiritual with Christian influence.
Mainstream religion, at least to the people I talk to, which includes at least 5 denominations including catholic, is 1. belief in a supreme being 2. belief in Jesus 3. Helping those in need 4. Acceptance 5. belief in heaven and hell. There are differences in how these beliefs are expressed, but the basis of all seem to be helping other people. I go to a Methodist church, my best friend is a Quaker, my children are Catholic, another friend is Baptist, one a Pentecostal, several Church of God. All have strong mission emphasis and all are tolerant of most people. This is my experience.
I'm seeing a connection here...

Ask 'em how the feel about:
1. Gay marriage
2. Abortion
3. Alcohol sales on Sunday
4. Evolution being taught in schools.
I think if you fully explored their feelings, I think you would find their "tolerance" to be short lived.
Tolerance in action! (http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/wuerl_colson_christian/2009/11/21/289471.html?s=al&promo_code=91AA-1)

I think you will find most of us, including this atheist, don't really have a problem with mainstream religion (except the terrible waste in resources, including their tax dodging), but it is the fundamentalists of those religions; evangelical types of all creeds.
It is funny that all your mainstream religions are christian based. That might be true in the US, but not so for the rest of the world.
OK, gay marriage, most churches don't approve of gay marriage but no one I know have a problem with homosexual people or with civil unions, alcohol sales in general or on Sunday seems to be more of a personal issue than a religious one as people in the same church have different views, I have met no one in my church or any of the others I have spoken to who have a problem with evolution being taught in school. Abortion again seems to be more of a personal issue than a religious one with the people I talk with. I know some denominations can be more intense than others and all denominations and churches have some persons who are rigid in their beliefs, but I do not think that is the norm, they just get the most press while the rest of the people try to make the world a better place.
Ex: At this time the US most mainstreat religions are Christian and that is mainly what we deal with here and what we were discussing. If I lived in the middle east or Africa I would be talking about the religions prevalent in those areas.
And tell me....how do people come to believe what they believe?
There is definitely some mind control there.
There's a LOT of mind control there; it also starts early.
I don't know how anyone else comes to their beliefs, how did you come to your beliefs? Are you pro life, pro choice, against drinking, mercy killing, smoking, card playing, gambling, dancing? I would think most people form their opinions through personal experience, have they been affected by one of these things or by their association with different groups or family members. I am pro choice to a point, don't believe in mercy killing, think suicide is selfish, don't mind a social drinker, love to dance, play cards, don't like to be around smoke, and don't have a problem with gambling unless it causes harm to the person or their family.
I think organized religion has a place in society. Most churches do a lot of good in their communities. There are a lot of food pantries, financial aid, and other support that would not be available if the churches and their outreach programs were not in place.
In case I haven't mentioned it I did not grow up in a go to church environment. I grew up in a very upper middle class family and we were not particularly religious.

I think organized religion only builds shrines of masturbation to it's attendee's and for the profit of those who run them. The mega-buildings and their upkeep could feed, clothe and house millions compared to the paltry sums spent on the communities they are in (with the additional loss of tax dollars from their business). The NASCAR crowd have taken that even further with mega-church coliseums and multi-media/broadcast studios. They are leeches on the weak minds of the masses. Just think of the real good all that paid masturbation could do if put to real needs in the world.
To each his own. I am sure you do your part to help those that need it.
