Dammit! I didn't ride to work because the blasted radar showed a big line of storms headed this way. Now it shows them having moved way up north and I could have rode to work!

That line of storms passed us over too, and judging by the radar, it's headed north. I don't think we'll get any of it.

Be it known to all that will read this: It is now 6:19 AM Eastern and the thunder and lightening is rolling and the rain is pissing down up here in the northern sector. I take all of the above quoted statements back, I was wrong, and I damned sure admit it.

This is whats wrong with the world today. No one wants to be responsible for anything. Everyone wants a license to do or be anything. No one wants to pay the bill.
These days if your life is screwed up, if you failed your family and friends, its never your fault. If your are a drunkard, maybe its genetic or predisposed. If you are a compulsive adulterer or have a hundred sex partners a year, well maybe you just never had enough love as a child or were never hugged enough.
If you just blew some shopkeepers head off or beat some old lady up for twenty dollars, you are not a bad guy naw you are not to blame, you can blame your parents or the teachers or maybe all all western culture, but not you, never you. how crass to suggest such a thing, how insensitive. how hopelessly old fashioned.
You can walk out on your wife and kids without paying child support, milk your investors out of millions, beat some guys brains out because he is gay or maybe because he disrespected you. You can drop your baby in a dumpster because you had second thoughts about the joys of motherhood, cheat on your taxes, defraud welfare, sell drugs, abuse your own daughter, and still claim you are the victim.
Everybody's a victim these days. No one is a victimizer. There is no atrocity that you can commit that you can not claim you were the victim and stake a claim for sympathy. You can moan about being a victim of racism, reverse racism, sexism ageism, classism. prejudice against fat people, ugly people, dumb people,or smart people. Thats why you robbed the bank or shot the cop, because you are a victim, There are a million ways to be a victim.
You devalue the complaint of the real victims, but what the he** you only go around once and you want your piece of the action and who cares about the real victims , they are losers anyway.

I don't want the world to be this way, but it is, my use of the word YOU was not meant to point to anyone but only to show how I feel the world is going today.
When I am responsible for hurting some one I want to choke on that responsibility. I want it to follow me for a long time. I hate the way things are today.

You OK Isabelle? I agree with every single word you just said. The world has gone to hell in a hand basket. There is always someone else to blame for everything. If I do something wrong, I own it.

Thanks guys................. I feel a whole lot better now.
There has been a few horrible crimes in my town in the past few months. One included a child. All I have heard is how the ones responsible had "a bad childhood" or "how they were mistreated as a child", or how they "had a terrible time as a young adult". I could care less about them. I don't see any of that as a reason or an excuse for the things they did and will do.
I didn't know my rant would be so long but once I started, well it went on and on.
When I saw the word "vent" in the heading, my brain went on a tangent and I didn't know when to stop.

Hey Isabelle, it is just so good to see you back with us.. and this is the thread for venting...make it as long as you want....and get it off of your chest......

incidently i agree with you, that many parents today, do not teach kids about being responsible.........they either bail them out everytime they get in touble or these kids simply are following their parents footsteps and want to place blame on everybody else...
