Jeez, what did he do? Did they catch him dragging a bag of bombs into the school? Or did he just talk some shit and this pussyfied, jump at your own shadow, politically correct system bust his balls in drama queen fashion? I am guessing off the top of my head how this went down, he was probably being dicked with, lost his temper and vented some crazy shit, (who hasn't, lets be honest) and some asshat turned him in and cranked up the drama. If that is a crime (talking serious shit when mad), then the National Guard should be storming my apartment along with every 3 letter agency known to tax dollars.

It's called better safe than sorry. Do you think the Columbine boys were happy go lucky before they stormed the school?

I have a friend that works for the foster care program in her state and the outlook is bleak. For every good foster parent, there are 10 bad ones. Unfortunately, they're in high demand and the money looks good to losers. I've also known several people who've gone through foster care and the stories are horrible. How those people continue to care for kids is amazing. Anyway, I agree with Kim. Let the professionals help. Those who have experience with his problems and are able to encourage a positive outcome.

Ugly! I have a friend who worked in one of the most reputable kid nut farms in the country. If a kid isn't screwed up, they will be after a trip there. The stories he told me were insane, I would have lost it on them if I was a kid in there. Putting me in there would have cranked me up about 90 notches into psychopath in high speed, low drag mode. He tried to help as much as he could but it was a joke. He went into foster care after leaving there, at least he could do some good. Even then, some didn't make it in life and ended up dead or worse. Fixing screwed up kids is tricky business, the best thing is DON'T SCREW THEM UP TO BEGIN WITH.

LOL...I am sooooooooo sick of hearing about Columbine. Sorry, its not your fault. Columbine was a prime example of epic FAILURE on behalf of parents and educators alike. Those kids had issues acerbated by their peers much like your kid here, but it was allowed to happen until they banded together and decided to do something about it. How the hell does all those signs the size of billboards get ignored by parents and facility? From what I gathered they went after the jock pricks, and the uppity bitches that tortured them. Sure, its all fun and games to rip on the kids who are picked on, that dress funny, or are weird. Teachers get in on it to a subtle degree with the majority of the students, you got to be ignorant not to see it.

The big lesson that should have been learned from Columbine wasn't learned at all and its going to repeat until someone finally gets it. It's not about some kid talking about making a bomb that you have to worry about. It's the bullying and social groups that torture the "off" kids. That shit has been ignored for decades and now with the Internet, kids can find out how to make bombs and what kind of stuff you can use to off not just one person, but ALL of them.

I am not so worried about some kid who gets mad and says he's going to blow up the school. Frankly because he's just pissed and probably a dumb fuck. The ones I worry about are the quiet ones that get tortured. Those are the ones that KNOW not to say anything because they will get busted, they are smart enough to control themselves and that means they are smart enough to build crap that WILL blow up, not like the Columbine ones that fizzed.

That's what they're trying to do. Get the kid help before he gets to that desperate point. Check t his out:

QuoteEric Harris boasted to friends as long as two years ago that he wanted to blow up Columbine High School.

But none considered it anything more than a teen-age fantasy -- until Harris and his friend, Dylan Klebold, stormed Columbine last week with bombs, assault weapons and shotguns.

Harris told of ambition to blow up Columbine

Sadly, Columbine isn't the only school to suffer through a tragedy like this because the "warning signs" were ignored. Better safe than sorry.

Say what you want about the teachers not handling bullying, but there are only so many hours in my day to teach the unGodly curriculum that our "fearless leader" has set forth to be taught and tested.

May I isolate this comment and ask for clarification?  What "unGodly" curriculum?

The article didn't cover the WHY these kids were this violent towards the school. Interest in explosives, and warfare doesn't mean you just look around and want to blow up everything and everyone around you. These things have purpose and reasoning behind them. Perhaps a bit insane, but still purpose and reasoning. One kid who's insane, that is  probable, but 3? Sure they were all nuts, but to just flip and do it for giggles doesn't factor.

The real lesson is what lead to this and how does one avoid it in the future.

Easy there, Hoss. From what I gather, the No Brat Left Behind Policy implemented by DumbYA Bush is the problem. It makes teachers shuffle kids along at light speed, and ironically but logically it leaves all kinds of kids in the dust and LEFT BEHIND. Teachers don't have time to explain shit, nor do they have time to observe their students and pick up on the subtle stuff that is important.

It's what happens when prick politicians play with education for political gain. Both sides need to keep their damn hands out of it.

I would imagine what she said has nothing to do with religion, but its just an expression of how FUBAR the situation is.

I don't think they had time to give the real reason before their demise. However, had the warning signs been addressed in the beginning, then 1) It may not have happened or 2) we'd know why.  At this point, it's all speculation, but does provide an example of what happens when we ignore talk/signs of violence. Maybe it is nothing, but I'd rather the school system and the parents find out away from the school and my child.

Frankly I think it hysterically exaggerates one aspect all the while ignoring the root cause. Also, it rewards and teaches kids in a way that is very bad for them and our society. It lets them ostracize someone with impunity and when they, the victim are pushed too far by the group, the victim is destroyed by the system.

I don't think there was ever a real reason given for the boys responsible for Columbine. We will probably never know. What I do know is there were plenty of warning signs if people would have just paid attention. I read both boys myspace pages and their internet blogs. There was some scary shit on there! Scary enough that it should have raised red flags for SOMEONE. As a parent, I know how important it is to monitor what your kids are doing, where they go and who they hang out with. My son throws a fit if I mention something that he has written on his myspace page. I usually tell him if he's that bothered by what someone reads (including me) then maybe he should think twice about writing it. If I were to ever read anything remotely close on his page to what the boys of Columbine had written, he would be in deep trouble. I would take action to correct it immediately. Too bad the Columbine boys parents weren't more attentive. Maybe things would have turned out differently.
