WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANYBODY WANT TO TRY A SLOW DSL LINE OVER CABLE'S BROADBAND? IT'S THE FASTEST AROUND AND I COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT.
I have high speed dsl and love it. If your cable goes out are you still able to use your internet? I don't know much about cable anything. We have a satellite dish, and high speed internet.

I went from cable to DSL and I wouldn't go back to cable.  Guess it must depend on where you are.  When we got the cable connection the guy's that installed it said this line here was ancient though and wasn't meant to handle cable so that may have been the problem.  When the kids got out of school and on the weekend it was almost as bad as dialup....  Now I'm paying less money and have a much better and more constant connection with DSL.... :choo:

    * Get speeds up to a whopping 10 Megs per second
    * Download up to 6 times faster than 1.5 DSL and 170 times faster than Dial-up

I have found these statements to be true!! I have NEVER had any problems out of my BB and I've had it for a few years.
When I click on something, it's pretty close to being instant and i'm there.  :)
I'm the Witch your preacher warned you about.

Unfortunately those of us who live in rural areas are doomed to only have dialup   :'(

But we were talking about making tips here...not making friends.  There are going to be people who will come in and make assessments based on appearance, and then never come in again, because they were just passing by on the interstate and decided it was time to eat.

My point was, I don't smile a lot.  I also told the manager this....that I don't, and I'm not even aware that I don't and if they want that...they will have to remind me that I've not been smiling. He said he didn't really care as long as I was friendly and got the job done. LOL

In all my years of waiting tables and bartending I've always found that no matter how friendly or fast you were, no matter how good the food, drinks or prices were, there were always gonna be people who were lousy tippers.  Fact.

LOL!!! I've always got a stupid grin on my face.

I'm a smiler too. I constantly have a smile on my face. Every now and then someone will say, "you're in a good mood" and I think what the hell are they talking about, but they see the smile and assume that I am which is fine. LOL

And my problem was that the best tippers were the ones who were just passing through town so I never got to see them again!!!

My dsl is instant too. I think it's something like 3 seconds, and I'm on Mozilla.

I live in the boonedocks, and have high speed. Recently, the server for the state of Illinois, has been down quite a bit. That pisses me to no end.

Usually, when I smile at someone, they smile right back. I think I look like the Joker.  :spooked:

I've had access to both, and to be honest, I have seen no difference in the speed of DSL vs Cable.  As a matter of fact, I get very annoyed with Cable when I have to deal with it.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Cable, what's a cable?  The cable system in our town ground to a slow painful death many years ago.  Lack of customer service equals lack of customers.  Everyone went with small sattelite dishes.  I could have went with Direct TV for my internet, but my sttelite goes out in good rain storms, and the DSL does not.  DSL is one hell of a step up from dial up, so I am happy.

I checked mine on Sunday.  That way I would not have to get up and come to work if I would have won.  You would have looked pretty foolish setting at your desk if you would have won.
