Okay, I am a little annoyed...we had a guy came to our door a few weeks ago wanting to buy my husband's old Ford Explorer. Granted, it's a 1994, with a tad bit of rust & a few other mechanical problems -- but, he offered us pennies for it.

Now with a interstate move in the works, we decided it would be more trouble then it's worth to move AGAIN, so we took the guy up on his offer.

He had the nerve just now (after loading it up) to offer me EVEN LESS!

Why are there people like this in the world? I mean, the tires on the darn thing are worth more than we took for the whole truck! :'(

Tell him to unload it and you're going to sell it to the guy who was at your house 15 minutes before he got there who offered you twice as much.

My EX sister-in-law is giving my home number out to what I can only assume are her creditors.  So, now I'm getting calls from people asking for her and where she's at now.    Well, I called her to give her the numbers of those who called for her (because I didn't give out her current information-I SHOULD have) and she was like, 'I'd NEVER give anyone your number as my contact number'.

PA-LEASE!!!  Why else would they call me, we don't even have the same last name anymore???

I have one of those...only it's a current brother-in-law! And he has admitted to putting our name/numbers down!

There are laws against this! It is called fraud and/or (attempted) identity theft (in some states).  Report these individuals and what they have done to your local police department. Get a credit check done on yourself and your spouse. Look it over very carefully! It is likely that if they have given your numbers out as contact numbers for them, they may have also given your name and address in other instances.

My daughter is going through this with a half-sister. The half-sister and her junkie boyfriend have bought cell-phones and given my daughter and her hubby to be's names. Also purchased items on credit cards they've opened in their names. To the tune of 20K! Both half-sister and junkie boyfriend are in the pokey now!

I would never have the balls to do something like that. I just can't imagine how anyone would. Didn't they know they would get caught eventually? How do you not get caught? I mean seriously, even with credit cards, they check your ID, and couldn't they trace these things back to your billing address? I mean, honestly!

What the hell is with the prices of everything going up so drastically over the last few years? I wish my paycheck would increase the way prices of groceries, gas, cars, clothes, college education and practically everything else has, then I wouldn't have a problem.

I understand that prices have to increase, but this is getting ridiculous.  Just two years ago I was paying 50 cents for a loaf of bread and now it's almost 2 dollars for a loaf today! Two years ago I was paying about $1.30 for a pound of ground beef and now it's over 3 bucks a pound.

I have never seen prices rise as high as they have with the frequency they have.

Anyone else have a problem with this?

Yup.  I imagine it's the "oil" and shipment costs...can't have business receive your tax dollars AND lose money in the cost of doing business now, can we?

I am going back to a minimalist.  I don't buy much of anything.  Clothing, I look to second hand stores and garage sales.  Nowadays, things are so cheap and I can never be sure of the dyes anymore.  I boycott about everything but that pesky old need to eat....and you're right...prices go up there, too.  So, maybe I should buy a dairy cow and chickens....and become a vegetarian with my own garden....hey, it's an idea....

First, my gas guage doesn't work correctly!!   I paid to have it fixed by Wiedner Cheverolet in the early part of the summer and it's not working again.  The darn thing stays on empty!!   So, I ran out of gas!!!  At 1am or 0100hrs or 0 dark 30 and had to walk a long arse way on 332 before I was picked up by the lead hill jack from Deliverance!!   Thank goodness for cell phones, because I was talking to a friend on the phone giving them the guys plate number JUST IN CASE!

You're right, Cookie, can't have Exxon/Mobil making 36 billion dollars in profit without ripping off someone now, can we???? ;)

And, then of course we all have to understand prices have gone up because we're at war....hmmm, but I do recall a certain Commander in Chief say when someone questioned him early on in the war about prices rising he said it wouldn't be because of us being at war, because this war is going to pay for itself....LOL...I'm still laughing at that one...or maybe I should say crying.

We're like you, Cookie, we're minimalists. And, we were minimalists prior to the prices of food going sky high, so that now cuts into our one thing we did consider above and beyond surviving and that's the savings we had for our kids' college education.  We've already had to start cutting into that just to buy food to eat for the week.  We haven't gone as far as buying our own milk and beef cow, but we do have a garden...unfortunately I think the little critters in the area got more out of it than we did. ;)

Why is it that on the last day of work before your vacation, everybody (and I do mean everybody) has to leave work early or has an important task you have to get done before leaving for work? Right now I have enough work in front of me to last through 8 or 9 o'clock tonight!

Then there are the people with less of a conscience that leave it sit until they return from vacation...
