I have this nice computer, pentium 4, 250 gig hard drive and plenty of memory, so why is it I purchase a game (Oblivion~ The Elder Scrolls IV) and when I enter into the sewer to go to the next level  (level 2) the game crashes?  :rant: :rant: :rant:

THIS is why I don't typically purchase computer games. . . And it lends validity to that little voice in the back of my head saying, BUY and PS2-3 or X Box! :rant: :rant: :rant:

I really like the XBox 360. My son has it and it's fairly versatile and I have the feeling set up in a way that will allow for future upgrades, unlike previous versions. 'Course you seem to have technical knowledge so you'd know better than me. I just thought I'd throw my experience with it out there 'coz I can't stand the thought of you getting hung up in a sewer.  :biggrin:

try altering yer video settings.  in my experience, most game crashes are caused by attempting a resolution/detail level that your system can't handle at the speed the game runs.  there may be updated drivers for your video card and or patches from the game designer as well.  i don't play oblivion, but this was the case for me with doom3 most recently, and countless others before.
