Yep. I'm old enough to remember when you got ten cards and a slab of bubble gum that tasted like cardboard and you had to tuck it in your cheek for about an hour before it was soft enough to chew.

Worst part was....the stinkin' gum was always right next to the best card in the pack, so it was ruined by a huge sugar mark.

All this fun for a nickel.

Couldn't beat it.

OMG! You're right about the gum and the favorite card! Honestly, I'd forgotten that part.

I was in a 7-11 today and they had packs of gum, just like that, not as many cards, but it was for High School Musical instead of sports. It brought back that memory.

I chose a Reece cup instead and it had a card in the bottom and that reminded me of the points that you could save from Mallow Cups.

Anybody ever by that wax candy or whatever it was? It was wax and had koolaid or something in the middle, then you could chew the wax like gum....or we did. LOL

They still sell those here. Are they called "Soda Bottles" or something like that? I can't remember the name of them. Was that wax edible? I can't remember if we ate the bottles or not LOL!!! Man, it's hell getting old.  :spooked:

We didn't eat them, but we'd chew them until they couldn't be chewed anymore, then spit them out. LOL

I don't think it would hurt for somebody to swallow them. It might cause severe constipation though LOL!!!

I remember those.  They sure didn't have much liquid in them but chewing the wax was, for some unexplainable reason, fun.  Kids sure are easy....lol

I always loved Fun Dip, and Big League Chew. We used to put the chew in our lip like we were chewing real chew. Seems kind of gross now LOL!!!

I do. Fun Dip they still have here and as a matter of fact I put some in Lil' Mojo's Easter basket, but I couldn't do the Big League Chew. I had cousins who used the real stuff and I couldn't get past the gross mental image.

Don't remember that.
The Big League Chew was shredded bubble gum. It was suppose to resemble the chewing tobacco that the baseball players chewed. Back then I guess it was glamorous to chew. *yuck*

I know, it's sickening. My Dad chewed when we were growing up. I always thought that was nasty. Something just as bad.... a friend of mine's Dad chewed and he had a spittoon by his chair. The kids would always knock the nasty thing over on the carpet. *ick* *yuck*  :puke:
