dolly madison was the original sponsor for the "peanuts" specials (christmas and halloween only in those days) i always thought the texture of the dm "creme-filling" was smoother than hostess.

Me too.  It wasn't like it had sugar that wasn't quite dissolved in it and was much lighter and tasted far better IMO.

Does anybody remember the "Peanuts" stickers they used to put in the loaves of bread? Man, that was waaaaaay long ago. This thread is making me feel old, and I'm the one that started it LMAO!!!

No, but I do remember loaves of bread that had to be opened by tearing the wrapping loose from one end, where it had been glued shut.  The twist ties we have now were/are wonderful.

And how about those gallon size cartons of milk?  I had one get away from me in the store when I was a kid.  Man did that make a mess.

Anyone remember Mallow cups or the trading cards with gum?

I never did like mallow cups so to me they are pretty forgettable.  I do remember trading cards with gum though.

Yep. I'm old enough to remember when you got ten cards and a slab of bubble gum that tasted like cardboard and you had to tuck it in your cheek for about an hour before it was soft enough to chew.

Worst part was....the stinkin' gum was always right next to the best card in the pack, so it was ruined by a huge sugar mark.

All this fun for a nickel.

Couldn't beat it.

It was a racket to get you to buy more packs in hopes of getting the card you wanted, minus the sugar marks LOL!!!
