50/50 as to whether we're going to get more ice or snow. Right now the line between ice and snow appears to be tracking to pass directly over Anderson so it could go either way. . .

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED.

THE NATL WEATHER SVC IN INPOLIS HAS CANCELLED THE
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY.

SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE LIKELY EARLY THIS MORNING AS AN ARCTIC COLD
FRONT SWEEPS THROUGH THE AREA. HOWEVER.ANY SNOW ACCUMULATION IS
EXPECTED TO BE VERY LIGHT. THE THREAT FOR WIDESPREAD BLOWING AND
DRIFTING OF SNOW THAT COULD SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES HAS
DECREASED SUBSTANTIALLY.

HOWEVER.THE SHARPLY COLDER TEMPS MAY ACT TO FREEZE ANY
WET ROADWAYS & CAUSE SLIPPERY SPOTS TODAY. MOTORISTS ARE URGED
TO BEWARE FOR THE POTENTIAL FOR SLICK SPOTS ON ROADWAYS TODAY.

When I was a kid...I could play in the snow and cold ALL day long.  40 years later.....it hurts my skin to be out more than 5 minutes of this 20 degre stuff...let alone single digit and below zero windchill..........also, everytime my furnace kicks on...I see  $$$$ going out the window.........

Clothing my friend. No need to adjust the thermostat, just put on layers of clothing and an extra balnket or two on the bed. When you go outside leave no skin exposed. Wear a ski mask or face mask, scarf, gloves, and layers of clothing under your coat.

Thermal underwear is a basic necessity in such conditions and you should never go anywhere without it. The type you purchase is very important, and the layers you choose should include "breathable" substrates to ensure proper ventilation and keep you from freezing in your own sweat.

Secondary heat is a must, not just for outages but to assist your regular heating system. Electricity, if available, is a good alternative for secondary heat. Just make sure that space heater you put in your bedroom is in good working order and located well away from anything that could potentially burn if it malfunctions.

good advise PH..................and you know what, I have NOT purchased thermal underware in years.....and, THAT is going to be on my shopping list for my family...we do keep our thermostat at 65 during the evenings, and everybody has their own blanket to snuggle under when we watch TV together.  I do use a couple of electric heaters in the evenings, but they get shut-off when we go to bed.

My "cold" and y'alls "cold" is two entirely different things (-something versus mid 40's) however, I love cool/cold evenings so that I can snuggle under a throw and watch a movie. It's the best sleeping weather.

Right now, it's sunny and in the mid 70's.
