Speaking of that; the high winds that came along with the ice storm stripped siding off another neighbor's house!  :spooked:

Icy road conditions and a thunderstorm with heavy rain likely caused separate accidents on Ind. 37 that left two dead and at least four others seriously injured, authorities said.

Ind. 37 was expected to be closed until 12:30 p.m. between Allisonville Road and 216th Street north of Noblesville, authorities said, as the crashes are investigated and crews put ice-melting salt onto the road.

The crash shortly after 9 a.m. involving the fatalities occurred north of 206th Street on Ind. 37. Sheriff Doug Carter said a small northbound car apparently lost control, spun counterclockwise and struck a northbound wrecker then a southbound vehicle. The two people died instantly, but no one else was hurt.

Another crash about 9:15 a.m. between Allisonville Road and Promise Road involved four vehicles, said Noblesville Fire Department division chief Rick Russell. Four people were taken by ambulance to the trauma center at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

In that crash, authorities tried to summon air ambulances, but the thunderstorm prevented them from landing.

Three other people in that crash were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

That crash involved a small pickup truck, a white sport utility vehicle and two cars, Russell said. One of the vehicles appeared to be on fire, but only had its radiator popped, he said. The injuries did not appear to have been a result of the ruptured radiator, he said.

Paige and Greg Sexton and Greg Fiedler came on the scene shortly after it occurred. Both men helped the injured while Paige Sexton called 911.

A female crash victim had been ejected from her vehicle and was found under a nearby guardrail.

"I went straight to her," Fiedler said. "She was wadded up under there like a wet noodle. She stopped breathing twice while I was helping her."

Rescue personnel cut into one vehicle to free a woman trapped.

When Greg Sexton went to check on a couple also involved in the crash, he said they smelled of alcohol and there were several beer cans in the back of their car.

At the scene, Matt McGovern of Noblesville Police Department said alcohol was suspected as a factor in the seven-vehicle crash. But, Russell and Carter in a press conference later called the observation a "subjective opinion" and deemed it "inappropriate to talk about at this point."

39 wind chill 30 here and the wind is staying around 12 to 17 with some gusts hitting the 30 mark.  I think it's just getting into this area though.  So far they haven't extended the advisory here past the original 7:00am tomorrow morning.
