Uh, the rest of us can't hear the voices in your head.   :icon_twisted:
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

You don't have to hear voices in your head to figure out what I meant all you have to do is be observant which you obviously are not.

Sorry, but the rest of us aren't privy to your psychotic delusions.

Sorry but not having a psychotic delusions here just don't happen to be as dense as you seem to be.

Me your statement is based upon the assumption that our nation, indeed our government, consists of religion as the keystone to its success. Nothing could be further from the truth!

though I personally digress.......I believe that there should NOT be scripture on our military equipment....it seems like this is just stupid...and asking to get the nonreligious crowd fired up....and justifiably so....

for me, I think there is bigger fish to fry, as far as Christian Rights as it correlates to American pride and heritage....

Petraeus is correct........but, I can understand the mentality of the Marines, who are fighting day in and day out...against those who hate Christians...and a large number of Marines have Christian upbringing and feel as though they are killing enemies of the God of Abraham...(I'm not condoning it, just saying I understand the "thought process" of those boys fighting right now in those countries....that's all.

Perhaps a bit more "sensitization" is in order for those being sent to combat zones.

We are NOT "crusaders."

Yes, those christian ethics (oxymoron) at work.
"Wherever morality is based on theology, wherever right is made dependent on divine authority, the most immoral, unjust, infamous things can be justified and established." -- Ludwig Feuerbach, The Essence of Christianity, 1841

Prayers for our dear friends, Patty and Tommy, who lost their home this morning to a fire. Yes CACC folks it was them. They have lost all. GOD was good though, they are safe.

Every time I see one of these posts, I really want to ask, "If God was so good, why did their fucking house burn down?"

Why can't people see how clearly delusional this sort of talk really is?

Well they got a lil' taste of the fire already!   :icon_twisted:  ;D

Is it really fear?  This thread has been going on for a long time now, and I've never seen the first sensible explanation for the type of thinking that leads one to make statements like the above.  No matter how bad the situation is, somehow the deity gets "praised" for even the tiniest smidgen of good while getting a complete pass on the blame.  I simply don't understand it.

I will amuse you guys and give you my take on it....it has been a while since I chimed in....

It is "MY" belief, that God, created EVERYTHING (ie universe and all living things) as we know it.
HE created man....for HIMSELF
HE created man....to have a genuine relationship with HIM.
HE created man....to love Him, worship Him, serve Him, and fellowship with Him.

He also HAD to give us free will....for us to ever begin to understand His Love for us, we have to know what our lives could be without HIM....so we live in a world, full of sin, (my definition of sin is the absence of God)...and we will ALWAYS be sinners until the day of Judgement....
BUT, He offered a solution, to those who simply believe that Jesus is the one and only Son of God...who Died on a cross as a final sacrifice for our sins...(lack of God)...that He arose and ascended unto Heaven...and THEN, He would have those, who understand the LOVE of God and WHY He has done what He has done..

getting to your real question.....

Why does He let some houses burn down?....becasue fire burns, water drowns, bullets penetrate bodies, diseases kill....
and I Do believe that God does, intervene in our human lives and affairs...He has shown His power at many times throughout history...many are documented in the Bible....such as Job.

He tells us;

"My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the Lord.
'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are
My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts
." Isaiah 55:8-9

He also says that:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own  eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil." Proverbs 3:5-7

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. "

Okay, that's it..............I'm done preaching, but you asked and I felt compelled to answer.....

so, bash away ;D
