Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Is that right Henry?

Sorry Henry. Should have put a disclaimer in that. I know Dan tends to lump people into groups.

I have NO problems with gays what-so-ever....I do not approve of that lifestyle, but I also don't approve of hetro's that cheat on one another....but the bottom line is, it is THIER life, not mine....I have NEVER slammed any gay person on here...Anne, you need to learn that Dan is full of crap...and try's often to put words into other peoples mouth to win HIS arguement...

So, you don't oppose gay marriage?

I don't agree with it....

So, you misstated your case and do have a problem with gays?  Which is it?

are you retarded?.........

I don't agree with you on most things, but I have NO problem with you posting on here.  I don't agree with you, I think you are wrong, but I don't hate you.  The same with my view on gays....I don't agree their choice of lifestyle, I think it's wrong, but I do not hate them....I have done nothing to try to stop them....but if you want my opinion of them I will tell you....you have a BAD case of not know what you are talking about, most of the time....you ASSUME, because that someone believes in Jesus Christ or the Bible, they simply HATE others who don't.....you honestly don't have a clue...you, in my opinion, an Archie Buncker...it is YOU who hate people who don't believe as YOU do...

where did I misstate my case?

A former colleague of mine accepted a transfer to another division in Florence South Carolina, and could not be more unhappy over it. (After less than a week).

Now, why is this in the God Sucks topic? Well, let me tell you why she is so unhappy. . .

She and her boyfriend went to Walmart this past Sunday.(He flew down from Indy where he is still working). They needed to pick up a tote to put the dog's toys in and so stopped in to pick one up. They were surprised to find everything concerning food items availble for purchase, but the side with the merchandise on it was chained off. Seeing the tote they needed, and the chains down adjacent to them, they went over a grabbed one, then picked up a few other items they needed.

When they went to the check out they were called "heathens" and the cashier refused to ring up their tote, since it was a non-food item. They demanded to see the manager, and while the manager was sympathetic he also refused to sell them the tote, stating, "If you want to buy it you need to come back after 1:30PM. It is a city ordinance that we cannot sell general merchandise, and can only sell food items until after 1:30pm on Sundays."

Then when my colleague went to her HR orientation session on Monday, she was asked what church she attended. When she replied they had just got there and had not had time to even decide that, she was told to pick a church and say she goes to it even if she doesn't. The HR person told her that "Florence is the Buckle of the Bible Belt, and people are going to ask you what church you go to. If you say you don't have a church they are going to invite you to their church and get very mad at you if you do not come. So pick a church and hope for the best." (Can you imagine how they'll react when they find out she's "living in sin?")  :spooked:

My colleague is now looking for an apartment closer to Myrtle Beach. It'll be a 70 mile drive each way to work, but hopefully it will take her out of the "buckle" of the belt these zealots are already trying to stripe her with! :spooked:

You know from what I have read here it sounds more like the name of this should not have been God sucks. It should have been the people who push organized religion in your face sucks. I do not have a problem with God or anyone else who believes or does not. It is when someone comes to my door and starts telling me what I am doing wrong that pisses me off.
