I am pretty sure that was a love letter written to a young village girl by the king, where he expressed his love for her.

Some believe it is God's song of love for Israel, and some think it is simply a beautiful poem a man wrote to his beloved.

You think the author is a man, talking about another man?  Ewww, not that there is anything wrong with that   

OR, worse, you think it is a man talking about an underage girl, as in:

So, it is OK to murder little boys and to rape little girls, by the word of the bible, but oral sex is just beyond the pale?  Isn't that just how you guys follow this crap; pick and choose what you want, but ignore the "other" stuff?  Although, you turned the Song of Solomon into a gay sexual act.  Not sure how you came to that interpretation and I don't need to look up or read anyone else's commentary.   Yours is goofier than most.  Why don't you provide the commentary from others that interprets it differently?  I don't think your interpretation is quite on the mark.

Nope, I study the evidence of scientific facts (real, not imaginary; physical, not metaphysical) and draw my own conclusions based on my study of science.  YOU, study the words of others as that is the ONLY evidence you have for anything in your belief system; the words of others.  I don't take the word of anyone else for ANYTHING as people can be wrong about any, and everything!  That's all you have.

My personal experiences with God may not be able to proved scientifically.......but it does NOT mean they are lies by any way, shape or form.....The Bible may have been 'written' by men, (and I say 'written') but it's content and messages has been ROCK solid in answering many, many life situations that have been thrown at me....there have been things that have happened to me, that have NOT been....'coincidence' or 'just happened' by chance....all this happened, once I began to put God first in my life...His word has never come back void...The Holy Spirit, that you have 'heard' about, has provided me with a sense of comfort that cannot be imagined or manufactured....I have been on both sides of the fences on this more than once....there was a period of time, where I began to have doubts IF what I was experiencing was real or not.........I drifted away from God, and my life was a disaster and out of control.......THEN, I recommitted my Life to putting God first, and trusting in the Holy Spirit, allowed my heart to follow, what God's plan IS for me...again, MORE life experiencing incidents happened to me, that confirmed, (to me) that He was truly working in my life...there is NO magic formula or scientific equation to confirm it.....but it was/is, as real as the clouds in the sky....

So, Dan, with THAT said, I have MY reasons for believing in the quotes from many of our forefathers, who revered God and deemed Him as significant in building this country.....and I know, that I, or no one can force this TRUST and way of life on anyone....and do not even want to try to....but I will not simply back down from what I KNOW is the truth either....despite what science teaches YOU.......the bottom line is, we will ALL know the TRUTH someday.....and what I have to support MY beliefs, is MORE than enough for me to satisfy my soul.
