No, you didn't, actually what you said was this:

So you think a man (the king) was writing these words to a young girl?

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

Try as I might, I can't see that quote as anything but a metaphoric description of fellatio. And if your king "sat down under his shadow" and tasted his fruit, it is unlikely his majesty was addressing a chick.

All the squeamish counter-claims I've ever heard that the Song of Songs is about god's love for the church can't disguise the fact that most of it is flaming-hot pornography.

Yes, what metaphor would support?;

Song of Solomon 5

4My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.

5I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.

This is almost clinical in it's verbiage.  Maybe it's describing some hygienic practice as part of god's plan

Please read again, i did not say the author is a man talking about another man. I said it could be regarding God's love for Israel (the nation).  That particular song of Solomon is open to interpretation, and I guess if you want it to be about chasing a honeybee around an apple tree, it can be.

by the way, it is not my interpretation, it is the interpretation of Matthew Henry.  I just didnt look it up and copy him word for word.  I am pretty sure he was not a goofy individual.  However, if he was such, then I do appreciate being placed into his level of academia

And Moses had commanded the army of Israel, the nation (so you dont get all confligurated here and think it was Israel, the individual) to kill the Midianite women, since they were seducing the men into worship of Peor.  Earlier, God had put to death the adulterers of Israel, the nation, so it was mandated that these women should also die.  But the men did not follow the plan to kill the entire nation, they returned with the women.  The women who were virginal were not killed, because they had not seduced the Israelites, and were therefore spared since they could not perpetuate the Midianite people. They could be taken by the men as servants, or indeed as concubines.  The reasoning behind killing children during that time in history was that by allowing young boys to remain alive during war it was possible that the war would be repeated in the future.

To be even more precise, you said:

"...and some think it is simply a beautiful poem a man wrote to his beloved"

and I said:

"You think the author is a man, talking about another man?"

and you said:

"Please read again, i did not say the author is a man talking about another man."

and I say:

"YES YOU DID".

or, perhaps a bit more precise, you said "man wrote to his beloved", but it is clear from the "song" that the beloved is a "him" (his), so in essence you DID say it.

More of Gawd's lil' children doin' the best they know how:

ISLAMABAD - Days of rioting between Christians and Muslims in eastern Pakistan following allegations that a Quran was defiled escalated Saturday, leaving six Christians dead, including a child, authorities said.

Members of a banned Muslim organization began torching Christian homes in the Punjabi city of Gora on Thursday after accusing them of desecrating pages from Islam's holy book, Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti said.

"There is no truth in the allegation," he told The Associated Press, adding that he had himself visited Gojra on Friday and asked police to provide protection to Christians who were facing threats.

And it just keeps rollin' in.

WAUSAU, Wis. - A central Wisconsin man accused of killing his 11-year-old daughter by praying instead of seeking medical care was found guilty Saturday of second-degree reckless homicide.

Dale Neumann, 47, was convicted in the March 23, 2008, death of his daughter, Madeline, from undiagnosed diabetes. Prosecutors contended he should have rushed the girl to a hospital because she couldn't walk, talk, eat or drink. Instead, Madeline died on the floor of the family's rural Weston home as people surrounded her and prayed. Someone called 911 when she stopped breathing.

Sitting straight in his chair, Neumann stared at the jury as the verdict in a nearly empty courtroom was read. He declined comment as he left the courthouse.

Defense attorney Jay Kronenwetter said the verdict would be appealed. He declined further comment.

Prosecutors also declined comment, citing a gag order.

Mother convicted in spring

Leilani Neumann, 41, was convicted on the same charge in the spring. Marathon County Circuit Judge Vincent Howard set Oct. 6 for sentencing for both parents, who face up to 25 years in prison.

Their case is believed to be the first in Wisconsin involving faith healing in which someone died and another person was charged with a homicide.

Last month, an Oregon jury convicted a man of misdemeanor criminal mistreatment for relying on prayer instead of seeking medical care for his 15-month-old daughter who died of pneumonia and a blood infection in March 2008. Both of the girl's parents were acquitted of a more serious manslaughter charge.

Now the question that's begged by the above is, if Gawd indeed does exist, and he answers prayer of the dumbest among us, why didn't he save these two children cited above?  Even better, he could have saved the children and offed the idiot parents instead.  That would have been a far better outcome.

No it doesn't, but unfortunately, many continue to believe despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

One would have thought that by the 21st century, the feeble superstitions would be all gone.  I guess it's "welcome to Idiocracy" as the masses can still be led to believe crop circle forecasts, alien abductions or illegal aliens becoming the POTUS.

People think the Prez is an alien?? Nnnnaaahhhhh. He can't possibly be a gray -- too tall. Or a Nordic (unlike Pariann) -- too dark. That leaves the reptilians, and subtle plots developed over time are not their style. They mostly slash, grab and eat. A few of them tried to infiltrate Daviess County politics (where slash, grab and eat is SOP,) but they were easily spotted. Their toothpaste smiles for the camera had too many yellow teeth.

FARMINGTON, Mo. - Five people were killed in a head-on collision on a two-lane highway in rural eastern Missouri.

St. Francois County Coroner Jim Coplin said authorities found no skid marks at the crash site on Missouri Route 00 in an area surrounded by wooded farmland about 70 miles south of St. Louis.

Coplin also said there were no witnesses to the accident.

The coroner said 59-year-old Bessie Barker, her husband Walter Barker, 57, and 60-year-old Norma Holloway were returning home from a high school reunion when their car crossed the center line late on Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said their car struck a vehicle belonging to 46-year-old Yvonne Fulton and 48-year-old Gregory Fulton. The Fultons were returning from a prayer service.

Don't go to a prayer service or ole' Gawd will off you on way back.  ;D

Geebuz was calling them home...good.

There was an article last week about an infant who was in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver (she's now...DEAD!).  Of course, she was struck because her mom and her mom's boyfriend (not the baby-daddy) decided it would be a good idea to push her along side of a street with no sidewalks at 2:30 in the morning so they could get cigarettes...  Anyway, people were saying they'd pray for the baby...WTF?  What good will praying to the same god that allowed her to get hit in the first place do?
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.
