Isn't that amazing??  What's more amazing is how many of my damn friends are fans of that page.

Delusional losers.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

I may be moving to the other side after this week.In March because of horrible medical care I lost the love of my life . yeah ok I still believe Im just mad. then this week the most wonderful ,kind, loved young man I have ever know was taken in an accident. Rain and wet roads are to blame for this Indiana Mr Basketball death. How much pain and loss does this Family deserve? we are good ppl. We do all the things we are suppose to do . Rest in Peace Sweet Seth.

I heard about Seth yesterday, Jimdy. I just don't understand it. The police report says excessive speed, alcohol or drugs were NOT a factor. The poor kid just hydroplaned on I-64.

Ya know, I have quite a list of people the world would be better off without, and nothing bad ever happens to them. Not so much as a hangnail! Then we lose someone like Seth, who had already done so much good with his mentoring of young kids, and generous nature. There ain't no justice.

And that's why I continue to tell all the gods, "Don't expect credit for the good stuff, if you aren't going to accept blame for the bad stuff."

How does one "re-thing?" And I don't believe "delsuional" is a word. Pray for spell-check.

Sorry, but shit happens and the family doesn't deserve the good or the bad that comes with it, no matter how much they do all the things they are "supposed" to, or not.  There is only one real mistake in life and that is deciding to end one (someone else's or your own).  Everything else is just a good or bad decisions and no one really knows which ones are which, in that moment.  So, for the most part, it is random and not much you can do about it, and there sure isn't anyone, or anything, sitting around planning it for you (good or bad).  So, the family and the young man didn't do anything to deserve the tragedy.  They couldn't have done anything to prevent it, either.  Nothing fails like prayer.  So, in the words of the poets;

"all that lives is born to die"...LZ

You think the author is a man, talking about another man?  Ewww, not that there is anything wrong with that

OR, worse, you think it is a man talking about an underage girl, as in:

Numbers 31 (King James Version)
17Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

So, it is OK to murder little boys and to rape little girls, by the word of the bible, but oral sex is just beyond the pale?  Isn't that just how you guys follow this crap; pick and choose what you want, but ignore the "other" stuff?  Although, you turned the Song of Solomon into a gay sexual act.  Not sure how you came to that interpretation and I don't need to look up or read anyone else's commentary.   Yours is goofier than most.  Why don't you provide the commentary from others that interprets it differently?  I don't think your interpretation is quite on the mark.

Please read again, i did not say the author is a man talking about another man. I said it could be regarding God's love for Israel (the nation).  That particular song of Solomon is open to interpretation, and I guess if you want it to be about chasing a honeybee around an apple tree, it can be.

by the way, it is not my interpretation, it is the interpretation of Matthew Henry.  I just didnt look it up and copy him word for word.  I am pretty sure he was not a goofy individual.  However, if he was such, then I do appreciate being placed into his level of academia

And Moses had commanded the army of Israel, the nation (so you dont get all confligurated here and think it was Israel, the individual) to kill the Midianite women, since they were seducing the men into worship of Peor.  Earlier, God had put to death the adulterers of Israel, the nation, so it was mandated that these women should also die.  But the men did not follow the plan to kill the entire nation, they returned with the women.  The women who were virginal were not killed, because they had not seduced the Israelites, and were therefore spared since they could not perpetuate the Midianite people. They could be taken by the men as servants, or indeed as concubines.  The reasoning behind killing children during that time in history was that by allowing young boys to remain alive during war it was possible that the war would be repeated in the future.

No, you didn't, actually what you said was this:

I am pretty sure that was a love letter written to a young village girl by the king, where he expressed his love for her.

So you think a man (the king) was writing these words to a young girl?

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

Try as I might, I can't see that quote as anything but a metaphoric description of fellatio. And if your king "sat down under his shadow" and tasted his fruit, it is unlikely his majesty was addressing a chick.

All the squeamish counter-claims I've ever heard that the Song of Songs is about god's love for the church can't disguise the fact that most of it is flaming-hot pornography.
