As for your point that Dan does not fully comprehend the issue, I think it is more likely that you are each focusing on different facets of the issue. That seems to happen a lot here. Remember the ACLU/NAMBLA thread? Passionate posts from each side which did not actually address what the other side was saying.

I've found it helps to keep your sense of perspective if you imagine the other posters typing with a little grin on their faces.
