China!!! and when Trump is done negotiating with them, and China will cave.....the Dow will boom again....

It's quite a bit more complicated than that but yes, the uncertainty that Trump has created around trade with China is one contributing factor.  Another perhaps larger issue is the narrowing spread between short and long term treasury yields.  As of close of business on Tuesday, that gap was down to .11%.  Inversion of the rates (when short term rates surpass long term rates) virtually always signal a looming recession.  Engaging in trade wars when the economy everywhere else in the world is slowing is a sure way to insure that we join them and investors and business are bracing for it.

As I've said all along, the recent increase in economic activity in this country was artificial and directly attributable to infusing over $400 billion into the economy when it wasn't needed.  When the next recession hits and we do need it, we won't have it.  Trump's economy is a house of cards.  Enjoy the party because the hangover is going to be a bitch.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you believe that China will cave in this trade dispute?  Have they shown any signs whatsoever of doing so thus far?  Nope!

All of that is absolutely true.

It's also amazing, and scary, that the "party of fiscal responsibility" - a.k.a. Republicans - is always the party that ends up sending this country into the fiscal abyss just like is going to happen again.

Yet people like Hank, and millions of others all across the country, haven't seemed to figure that out, and keep voting these assholes in.  Their thinking is still that Republicans have their best economic interest at heart.  Yet every vote Hank has ever cast for a Republican is a vote against his own economic best interest.  Every single time.

Just visualize this, Trump sitting in a dunk tank cage and the target sticking out to the left.     For the last two years all the Republicans in the house would let us have was ping pong balls to throw.

But come January the 1st the Democrats come in with buckets and buckets of baseballs to throw.  And with 40 new Democrat pitchers to throw baseballs at the target.  :haha:  :haha:  :haha:      :jail: :hanged: :pop:

Have you watched any of the meeting between the House democrats and republicans? MSNBC has been showing some of it. I turned off my TV after Trump said bluntly to Nancy Pelosi that if the democrats don't agree to give him the money he wants to build that wall, he will shut down the federal government.  >:(

This administration is a total shit show.  Anyone still supporting this dumpster fire is an abject moron.

These RW numbskulls don't have a clue about economics, even down to their personal finances.  As an example, just ask Hank how many times he's declared bankruptcy.  He can't even manage his own finances much less speculate on how government economics should be run.

Drumpf is just like Hank, neither have a clue.  Drumpf has cheated, bankrupted, and inherited himself into money.  Otherwise, he'd be just another dumbarse RW fool continually voting against his own economic self-interest and swallowing every drop of stupid propaganda the capitalist feed him and responding with "More sir, may I have some more!"

Fact, and well said!  I couldn't agree more.  Unfortunately, our best hope is to contain Drumpf as much as possible and hold on till the next election.

I thought the Mexicans were going to pay for it.

Mexico can barely run its own government and police its country for all the inherent corruption in that country, much less pay for a border wall that's against their self interest to erect.  Look up how many U.S. dollars are being sent back to Mexico each year.  It's a shame we have a border with them at all.  I've often thought we should just make them a protectorate.  We'd have much better control over what goes on at our border and south of it, and the general populace of Mexico should be much better off.

What makes my so sad, is that 33% of the voters in this country are idiots, fools, and morons.     Who are so stupid they can't take their heads of their asses, wipe the brown out of their eyes and see what is going on.     They are destroying our country.   :4th3:
