I found my mom's. I don't know if she got it from my grandmother or not but here goes.
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 dash of salt
2 1/2 cups of milk
1-14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
2 egg yolks
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
3 cups sliced banana
45-50 vanilla wafers
4 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar

Mix flour and salt in a large sauce pan
Add milks and egg yolks to pan slowly, stirring constantly over medium heat until mixture thickens about 7-8 minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla.
Layer enough bananas to cover the bottom of a 2 qt. Casserole dish. Cover the bananas with a 1/3 of pudding mixture and layer with a 1/3 of vanilla wafers.
Repeat layers starting with bananas, then pudding, then vanilla wafers.
Do the layering a third time as usual, except do not cover pudding with wafers. Place the wafers around the edges of the casserole and tucked into the pudding.
Beat egg whites at a high speed until they foam.
Add the sugar gradually. Keep beating until stiff peaks form.
Spread this over the top of the pudding, forming a seal to the edges.
Bake pudding at 325 for 25 minutes or until meringue becomes a light golden brown.
Ya, you made the pudding on top of the stove and baked the meringue in the oven, that's the way I've always made it. You didn't make the pudding in the oven.

I know pudding wasn't made in the oven. But this is baked in the oven. And the pudding is cooked on the stove.

I thought you meant the pudding was baked in the oven, too.  That's why I asked about the recipe.

. Yeah, the pudding isn't that hard to do but my grandmother use to make it in the oven with a homemade meringue. Have you ever made homemade meringue? I haven't with pudding but have with pies.

That's why I was confused.  ^^^

Sorry about that, I should have clarified myself a little better.

No problem.  It certainly did pique my interest on how to make pudding in the oven!  Now I"m wondering if it could actually be done.

There's a thread in the recipe area about cake in a crock pot.  After I saw that, I knew anything was possible.  ;D

I actually tried that recipe one time and it turned out pretty good.

Well, if you do it, let me know. Maybe I will Google and see it if has ever been done that way.

I have seen that recipe around Facebook and wondered if it was good. I have seen a candy one also that looked pretty good that was done in the crock pot.

Never tried it, but have heard of it.  Lasagna in a crock pot, too.

I made a Crock-Pot pizza one time. You use wide egg noodles. It was really good. I have also made regular pizza not in the crockpot but used macaroni for the crust.
If you would like those, I can post the recipes to them.

I did a quick google on baked chocolate pudding, and even though the recipes I read say "Baked Chocolate Pudding", what they are really making is a hot lava cake.  All the recipes are similar to mine for a hot lava cake.

I don't think it really can be done since the pudding must be stirred, but I'll keep searching.

I did a search also and saw probably the same thing. I don't think it can be done either because everything I saw, the pudding ingredients had to be stirred.

All this talk about chocolate pudding made me want some so I made some homemade chocolate pudding tonight.  Waiting for it to cool down.
