How did you prepare your tofu? I've had it so many ways and I enjoy it, but I've never had the guts to cook it myself.

Take a small piece of ham or sausage fry it first.  Add just a little oil and then fry in same skillet the sliced or cubed tofu until is browned a little bit of both sides.  The tofu will suck up the taste of the meat.

Then I like to fry two eggs over light and mix the tofu with the eggs.  Really make the eggs creamy.

Years ago I didn't like tofu, it tasted to much like soy beans.   Not anymore.  Tofu fried in oil and nothing else, not to good, Bland.  Try it like this and I think you will like it and it's good for you.

I'm not too sure about the good for you part. Especially if you are frying it in the juices of the sausage or ham. The juices contain just as much of the ingredients that are bad for you that you might as well have gone ahead and ate the actual meat as opposed to the tofu. . .

The amount of meat I talking about is insignificant.  In a Atkins diet tofu is fine and has less calories that meat.  I not talking about a whole ham steak or a whole sausage patty.

This morning I used two 2 X 3 inch, 1/8 thick piece of ham and two 3 X 5 inch 3x8 thick tofu.  It's cheaper in calories than all meat and contains no saturated fat.

  It's good and different.

Except for those contained in the juices (fat) you fry it in. . .

So what,  it contains very little.  Have you ever had tofu?  No?  If you have tell me your information on it.  But it matters little to me since on a Atkins diet I can eat all meat, butter, eggs, tofu and all kind of greens.  No white, bread, flour, cakes, sugar and very little  carbohydrates.

On the pizza at Art's, the crust is bad, but oh does it taste good.  But like all things, to much of anything can be bad.  Troll bad.

I'm catching up ;D

Isn't the grease that makes sausage, bacon or ham gravy bad? But I do see what you're saying about the Atkins diet and that makes sense.

I had tofu cubed real small in salsa once and that was delicious. I also had it cubed in an Asian soup and it was equally delicious. Oh and a spinach lasagne type thing. That was REALLY good. Troll's right about it absorbing flavor.

I tried a slice of tofurkey once. No good, but it may have been the cook.

I'm having some of PH's hot beef. I barely got in the door before I had the lid to the crockpot off. Man! That stuff is good.

I finally remembered what it reminds me of...Carolina BBQ. They have a few, but I'm talking about the slightly vinegary one.
