  Well we got something in common.     I have a life time conceal carry license too.    Depending on what I am wearing, I carry a Colt 45 1911 automatic with Black Talon bullets or my Smith and Wesson 38 with wad cutters, make nasty little holes in the body and usually won't go clear through.     What do you carry, a 22 single shot Derringer or a 6 shooter with 1 bullet in it, like Barney. 

I have a Glock 45mm and a .357 that I carry.

I have owned several horses in my life  but not now, they are an expensive hobby with vet bills and if you don't have a place of your own to turn them out, then you are talking about boarding bill, the vet bills tend to be for Coggins, West Nile virus, East Nile Virus and other shots for diseases, worming and often having teeth floated, blacksmith bills and that is not talking about feed bills. I am thinking of adopting a mustang and training them myself but only because I prefer to train my own but I want to have a place to turn a horse out and not board. A horse in stall 20+ hours, 7 days a week is no life for any animal.

  For some reason I just knew you had or have horses.      And you have the nerve to talk about my toys.    I have had some friends who have had horses and didn't have a  place of their own to keep them.     Yes, I have heard all about the expenses a horse cost and you mentioned them all. 

  One thing about it, my toys may have cost as much money buy as a horse, but we got pretty much back as we bought or toys for.     But when I and we put them up, I put them in the hanger, garage or lock them up and they didn't cost me a dime except for a little hanger or tie down fee and damn insurance.     That is the main reason I give up flying.  When I started flying it cost me $16 an hour for a 4 place Cessna 172     that same airplane today would cost a person over $60 an hour.     

  A friend and I built a Benson Gyrocopter by ourselves.       Bought for low dollar, sweat, and love.     We flew it  and when we were done we put it on the trailer I built and we took it home and put it in my garage.   

  One horse story I want to tell you, a friend had a new Arabian horse he had bought.     And we all had to see it, we went out to a place where he had it boarded.     I must say it was one fine stallion, big tall and pure Arabian.     We watched him put the saddle on him and just before he got on his back he slipped a small baseball bat in his belt.     We asked Dick, that was the owners first name was, what the bat was for.     He said, "the son of a bitch bites."

Problem with you is that you are showing your ignorance on the Civil War as Kentucky was a neutral state and you do realize that the Civil War was fought more over state's rights than over slavery. Slavery was just a part of the issue on that. Now go read up on the Civil War and learn more about it because it is obvious you think just because someone lives in Kentucky that they were part of the South. Hate to tell you but my family was far from rich. My father is a retired school teacher and he didn't make near what teachers make these days and he supplemented his income by having a farm even though it was on my 40 acres.
