Ice is dangerous.  My dad's cousin died a few years back due to ice.

He was leaving for work one morning and slipped on some black ice and hit his head on the pavement.  After about a 30 minute recovery, he went on in and worked.  He got a headache around lunchtime which got progressively worse during the afternoon.  By the time his wife got him to the hospital that evening, he was unconscious.  He died at around 2 a.m. the next morning.
That is horrible!!!!!!!!

Yes it was.

The lesson in that is that it's a good idea to go ahead and get yourself checked out if you ever take more than a slight blow to the head.

His brain just started swelling, and by the time they found out and tried to stop it, it was too late.

  Something similar happened to me -- a year or so ago if memory serves me correctly. But not on ice. I was in the foyer my house, heading for the front door, when it opened and a relative, a big young man, walked in. All I remember is making contact. Then, I was standing there wondering what happened. He said I tripped on a rug and fell and hit the back of my head. I asked how I got up, and he said he picked me up. My thinking was very fuzzy; I wondered if I'd had a stroke because my left hand and rib area and foot felt funny. I walked to the kitchen and stood there by the sink, how long I don't know, until my head gradually cleared. Don't remember anything else except that I went to the living room and sat down and after a while decided I was going to live. It never occurred to me to call 911 or my doctor. It took a while for the rib pain to go away, but I was more worried  about something else -- after a while I realized I was having trouble remembering people's names, common products, etc., and I was a little unsteady on my feet. Time passed. I asked my daughter and a couple of others if they'd noticed any change in me, and they said no. My daughter said that after driving me to Bluefield and back one weekend.  Then one day I was listening to a doctor talking about the danger of concussion in football players, and had that ah-ha moment.

If this new POTUS is going to be so great for the economy, why are retail stores closing in droves? Macys, Kmart, Sears, Kohls, all posted record level declines over this just past holiday season and are announcing store closures across the country. . .
