the lungs have not been able to develop--no fluid for breathing practice.  he/she can be born alive--only to suffocate--they can't ventolate if there are no lungs to ventolate.  with the other complications--the heart enlarged and on the wrong side, the umbilical cord, etc--it looks VERY hopeless.  if it were just the little nipper's kidneys (the original  problem)--they could help him/her.

Hon I hate to bring bad news but maybe your sister will consider termination after some time has passed and the shock as been taken in. It is not her fault and there is no way she is to blame. Some abortions are medical procedures in order to protect mom. I am sure you have heard everything that I can say to you, so I will say no more,
I want everyone to know that you are all in my heart and in my thoughts.

Last night, when we left for the Fair we found a dead cat 15 yards from our house. It had been hit by a car. We thought it was Dudley.  :'( We went on to the Fair ,and got back home at 12:00 am. We kept hearing a cat crying in the distance. Hubby says "That sounds like Dudley?" I said "We're just messed up because he's dead." All of a sudden... a cat comes running out of the darkness, and it was DUDLEY!!!!! We couldn't believe it!!! I snatched him up, and hugged him soooooo tight, I almost broke him LMAO!!!!! Hubby says "isn't it weird that he dissapeared exactly a week ago tonight?" And I  said "This is what's weird.... he took off exactly a week ago at this very time 12:00." It's a miracle!!!! My prayers were answered.  He's never going outside again.

LOL! Prolly me!

We had a black lab that would run at the sight of daylight. If I took him outside and he got out of my sight for a second, he was gone. He wouldn't do his business if he was on a leash. I was late for work SO many mornings looking for that dog. I even caught him slinking behind buildings in a yard one morning....I swear he was trying to avoid being caught.

Anyway, one morning, I looked and couldn't find him at all. I had to go. I couldn't afford anymore time. Three days later, I got home from work and he was near death on the door stoop. Dehydrated and totally beat up. I took him to the vet and the vet said that it looked like a pack of dogs attacked him. He recovered and looked like normal.

The most amazing thing though...he never ran after that. ;D

Dex, I'm SO happy that Dudley made it home. I imagine there may be some more Dudley offspring somewhere in a few weeks.

Then again, sometimes well meaning people take in animals that they meet w/out thinking that the cat is obviously well taken care of and must belong to someone. He probably just had to wait for the chance to escape back home.

I just couldn't believe it. Two hours before that I scooped up a dead cat off the road that looked just like Dudley. Seeing him coming through the yard just blew me away. He even slept in the bed with hubby and I last night. I didn't want him out of my sight.

I think he was at somebody's house. His fur was perfect. He didn't look like he'd been out rambling around. He didn't seem overly hungry either. Hubby thinks he was just out running around for a week. If that's the case it's a wonder he didn't die in the heat. He's use to central air.

We use to have a dog named Rusty. We got him when he was 7. He used to take off. We found out he had spotted a female Cocker Spaniel across town. She used to lay on the window ledge, and Rusty would lay in the yard ,and watch her for hours. Rusty was completely smitten with her. When he took off we always knew where to find him.
