Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.  Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

4th in line to the throne behind: Prince Charles; her father, Prince William; and her brother, Prince George.

Charlotte - the feminine form of Charles (Grandpa)
Elizabeth - For the Queen (Great Grandma)
Diana - (Grandma RIP)

IMHO William and Kate got it absolutely, 110% right in naming this child. Powerful name with a powerful legacy.

I agree on that!

Not until the 1950's did "Under God" appear in the pledge of allegiance, and "In God We Trust" appear upon our currency.

This is the same generation that brought us ineffective fallout shelters and propaganda induced legislation surrounding marijuana. . .

It's hot as hell here during most of the year, but there is a certain beauty about Florida that you just don't get anywhere else.

That's a beautiful picture.

I don't remember if I've mentioned this here, but I was doing research some time back and I came across an interesting factoid that actually explains much about the country, our government, and our society:

The average IQ in this country is less than 100.

It's no wonder we're living in a pro wrestling/Jerry Springer society.

You can't run either a country or a society possessing a huge contingent of sub-100 drones.

That's pretty scary.  If you can find the report where you read that, I'd appreciate you posting it.  I would like to read that myself.   Another scary thing is that most of those sub-100s vote.

I have witnessed a lot of instances wherein, years before their demise, individuals have made statements surrounding how they will make the crossing to whatever comes after this. Enough of them to make me strongly suspect that some of us have some kind of "premonitions" surrounding our expiration dates and how they will likely arrive. . .

My own late father, ever since I was a young boy, always said that when his time came he would just go; "I'll be dead before I hit the floor."

Imagine how I felt when the coroner described my father's death to me by saying, "His death was a quick one. He was dead before he ever hit the floor." And then she proceeded to provide scientific evidence of this fact by informing me that my dad had struck his head, very hard, on the sharp edge of an adjacent table on his way to the floor; producing a very deep gash that went to the bone. It bled not a single drop. "He never felt that nor the fact he hit the floor either."

In another thread someone produced a quote from the late BB King in which he described three ways in which he hoped he would die when his time came. Number two was in his sleep, and he did just that last night.

There are many other instances in which people I have known throughout my lifetime have told me, years in advance, how they were going to go out; and most, if not all of them, came to fruition exactly as they had said.

I strongly believe that each of us knows, deep inside, when, where, and how we will cross over; but we consciously are capable of only acknowledging only so much of it. Even then, we avoid the date and push it from our lucid thoughts and memories. And likely for good reason?

That is my personal hypothesis with which I explain the fact that so many people in my life have made such statements to me, and so many came to pass that it has to be something more than coincidence or chance. For if chance were that common, I'd have won the damned lottery by now and be posting this from the great north woods somewhere!

American Pharoah won the Preakness today.  Triple Crown shot again this year.

Yes, and in a muddy mess. He was one of the two horses that likes the mud and rain. Most race horses don't like mud on them or up in their face when running!

Locutus

Yeah I know, but didn't he finish by 5 lengths or so?  Impressive either way.

I hate having Derby and Preakness winners, like we've had so many times in the past (7 times since 2002), only to be disappointed by some other horse beating them at Belmont.  I would like to see another triple crown winner in my lifetime since I was only a child when the last one happened.
