Saw the resident Madison County Sheriff make a number of trips this afternoon, to pick up children at the drop off point here in the subdivision, and provide them rides to their homes.

Of course the first one was his kid, but he came back and loaded the car up with others several times. Until there were no more.

Some might call that a waste of taxpayer money and gas, but I'd call it excellent community outreach; not to mention being one outstanding neighbor.

That was well spent money in my opinion and very nice of him to do.

Damn! I heard about it on the way home but I forgot to watch it. I'll bet it was good for a few laughs.

I thought about it but didn't really want to be dumbed down listening to Ham's side of the argument.   I may find the replay on YouTube and watch it for a bit, but I don't think I could stand to watch the whole thing.

Food For Thought

If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without

a license, but not for being in the country illegally ...

you might live in a country run by idiots.

If you have to get your parents permission to go on

a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get

an abortion ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If you have to show identification to board an airplane,

cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book,

but not to vote on who runs the government ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding

citizens from owning gun magazines with more than

ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy

new leaders in Egypt ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas,

but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a

sugary drink might make you fat ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If an 80-year-old woman can be stripped searched

by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to

having her neck and head searched ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If your government believes that the best way to

eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school

for saying his teachers "cute," but hosting a sexual

exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes

and more government intrusion, while not working

is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid,

subsidized housing and free cell phones ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If the government's plan for getting people back to

work is to incentivize NOT working with 99 weeks

of unemployment checks and no requirement to

prove they applied but can't find work ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself

makes you more "safe" according to the government ...

You might live in a country run by idiots.

If you are offended by this article, I'll bet you voted

for the idiots who are running, and ruining our

great country today.

This is true, just look who controls the United States House of Representives.  The Republicans, the American Taliban.

The one surrounding 99 weeks of unemployment (Bullshit - right now it's 26 weeks at the state level then you are out) and no requirement to prove you are looking, (more bullshit - You have to submit 3 jobs every week, before getting your weekly pittance, and they randomly call those jobs to inquire whether or not you submitted to them. Not to mention the fact they force you to the local work one office, with your proof of submission to those jobs, audit them, and then subject you to a 30-45 minute berating because you haven't got a job), is nothing more than hyperbole and lies.

Given that is the case, one has to wonder just how many more items on that list are blatant lies. (Hint: most if not all).

It varies from state to state depending on how many weeks you get from the state.  In Ca it's 99 weeks at tier 4 of the federal extension.  Not sure what Indiana's is but will check later.

You should really make an attempt at investigating your outlandish claims before you make them:

Updated: The number of individuals who have run out of benefits is now over 1,270,800.

The EDD continues to monitor the situation in Washington D.C. for any developments regarding federal unemployment extension benefits. For the latest developments, stay tuned to the EDD Facebook and Twitter pages, or stay tuned to this page for the latest developments.

As of December 28, 2013, the federal unemployment extension program has ended. Unless Congress and the President agree to renew the extensions, no more federal extension benefits can be paid for weeks ending after December 28, 2013. With the end of the federal extension program, the Reemployment and Eligibility Assessment Emergency Unemployment Compensation (REA EUC) program has also ended.

And don't bother checking on Indiana's - I've already given it to you. . . And California's as well. It is 26 weeks and that is it. Those "tiers" you refer to are federal extensions which are the same ones being held hostage by the Tea Billy worshiping GOP.

1,270,800 families that will not be voting republican; and that's just in Cali. Imagine how many that is when you multiply that by 50?

QuotePotential Maximum Weeks of Benefits Provided

Federal extensions of unemployment benefits first became available in California in June 2008. Once offering up to 73 additional weeks of unemployment after someone ran out of their regular up to 26 weeks of state-provide benefits, federal extensions expired at the end of 2013.

The following chart is a breakdown of the federal extension benefits and the total maximum weeks of unemployment benefits that have been available in California. The total number of potential maximum weeks of benefits available depend on when your regular UI claim and extensions were filed.
