I gave up riding for a few years while the boys were young.  I had a close call one day, and after that it just wasn't fun anymore.  I took a break for a few years, then one day found myself buying a project bike to drag race.  After I got it running again, I needed to ride it quite a bit to get it sorted out.  It was during that time I rediscovered the joy of riding.  I did eventually get the bike on the track one night, but never pursued the racing of it any further, yet. :wink:  In the meantime I bought the BMW, then traded it for the Wing, and I am enjoying the ride while I can.  I know the day will come again when I step aside, but I don't see that day coming anytime soon.

So for now I sit here wishing for good weather and open roads, which will come in time. :rolleyes:

Took a chunk out of my shin bone in a motorcycle hill climb back in the late 60's/early 70's - my memory is a little foggy about that. Haven't been on a bike since. My daughter rides a Triumph Bonneville, though.

And the healing afterwards is exacerbated by the $$ you have to spend to heal yourself and the damned horse!

Some of my greatest memories are times when I rode my BIL's bike. He used to let me grab it on my days off and take a journey.....THIS was before I had kids.  THAT is what changed me, and kept me from ever buying one. 
I found no matter HOW safe and defensive you ride, it just takes ONE MORON to ruin everything.......and it seems like there are a WHOLE LOT OF MORONS on the roads, especially these days with everybody trying to TEXT while they drive....... :rant:

Well I heard two people won the $400 mega mill lottery yesterday!!  One from Maryland and one from Florida.  HMMMMMMM!  :confused:
