My dad has said it before, "I COULD be that lucky bastard"...it makes him feel could just to THINK he could leave us that kind of stash....so, he plays it and I keep my money...

Great strategy!  ;D

It would appear old man winter has his mind set on staying right through March. A winter storm is expected to coat central Indiana with a nice, new, pristine coating of 6 inches of snowman poop this weekend.

And I hear he is likely to follow that up with a huge ice storm a couple of weeks later.

It's basketball sectional time isn't it, or at least close to it?  We always get snow, or the potential, right through March.  We have been spoiled by the mild winters of recent years.

I sure like being spoiled though.

Well, you know me. I drive a 4 x 4 because I love the snow. I admit the extended riding seasons of the past few years have not been torturous though, but none-the-less I still enjoy my winter season too. All except for that sub-zero business that is. (There was a time when I enjoyed that as well, but those days are now behind me).

Had a good friend go through an absolutely horrendous accident aboard his steel horse near the tail end of the season last year. Thankfully he survived it, but it brought back some really nasty memories of my own from the past, and served to curtail my riding from October on. And has driven a still in progress review of whether or not I want to continue. (I am leaning toward going forward as is, but each grandchild I get makes me revisit this).

I love riding and there aren't a lot of things I take such a high level of enjoyment from; and I would hate to walk away from it again. But as Clint Eastwood once so famously said, "A man has to know his limitations. . ."  And my grandchildren seem to remind me of that each and every time I see them. Except for the Punkinhead that is.

He's absolutely ate up over motorcycles, thanks to yours truly, and each time he is here we have to go out and sit on my bike. He cannot read, but he can damn sure tell you what a Harley is, and knows the logo on site, wherever he sees it.

I've frequently thought that I need to update my will to ensure he gets my Harley when I cross over. And I see the punkinhead a whole lot since he's the only one that lives in the same state as I do. . . So that factor alone all but guarantees I will keep it around for years to come. (He'd have a fit if I got rid of it and didn't replace it with another.  :big grin:

Besides, life has its share of disappointments to dole out to the boy. I do NOT intend to be one of them, nor to contribute to them.  :smitten:

When Poppy croaks I want to leave him something that will remind him of me, and that Harley will fit the bill quite nicely.

At least twice a year I am forced to ask myself the following question:

"Why do I live where going outside hurts my face?"

When exactly do I ask myself that question?

When the thermometer is below zero and above 95. . . Both conditions make my face burn!

I did too.  I have not enjoyed this winter at all and I didn't used to mind it even when it was worse and I have seen worse than this.

My husband quit riding his motorcycle when he decided it takes too long to mend when you get older. Now he just drives his truck.
