  • Consider that when an individual complains about the price per gallon of a grade that the general consumer does not use much, it's not a problem and they should "shut up about it". But when the exact same situation impacts a grade they do use, it's now a major catastrophe!
  • Consider that when fuel prices soar under one POTUS, "the office doesn't have any control over it what-so-ever", but when it rises under another POTUS it is "all his fault". (Why is that I wonder?)

THAT is bs...and MORE liberal spin..........Bush DID something about it!  I PROVED that one already.

No. . . he didn't and you didn't either.

And shall I supply to you the postings you made that prove my points?

Thanks for the reply.........I STILL stand on what I said.  When YOU bought your truck, you knew the price of  Diesel...and bought it anyway.  Nobody DID put a gun to your head.
Gas was $1.87 when O took office.........his "green regime" has done all it can to hinder the production of fossil fuel...that is all apart of his agenda....along with restricting many parts of this land from being explored, so the real truth about the abundance of fuel we REALLY have...he has all but killed the Keystone pipeline and has done all he can to reduce the amount of drilling being done in the gulf....
So, it is NOT the same comparison that I had on you and your deisel...but, even the dems have much of the blame for the price of deisel with the over regulation they have burden on it.

. . .

Diesel prices on July 7, 2003 were at $1.43 / gallon.

14 months later they were above 2 bucks, and by April 2007 they went above 3 bucks going to 4 by July, and have stayed in that range since.

Perhaps THIS is part of the "speculation" and ''Fear" by investors ...

While Obama was unsuccessful at putting a moratorium on oil drilling, he was able to accomplish the same thing by putting a stranglehold on oil refining which accomplishes the same thing. With 1/3rd of the country's oil refining gone what do you think this will do to the economy?

"EPA overturns 16-year-old Texas permit program

By RAMIT PLUSHNICK-MASTI, Associated Press Writer Ramit Plushnick-masti, Associated Press Writer Wed Jun 30, 5:35 pm ET

HOUSTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday officially overturned a 16-year-old Texas air permitting program it says violates the Clean Air Act, leaving some of the country's largest refineries in a state of limbo. The move comes after years of backdoor bickering, negotiations and public arguments between the EPA and Texas. The argument recently escalated from a battle over environmental issues into a heated political dispute over states' rights.

He has been using it to drive home his contention that President Barack Obama's administration is overreaching, saying in a statement Wednesday that "Texas will continue to fight this federal takeover of a successful state program."The EPA's decision, announced in a statement, will force some 125 refineries and petrochemical plants to invest millions of dollars to get new permits. Many of the plants may also have to invest in updates to comply with federal regulations."

Seriously?  Did you miss the part about our #1 export in 2011 being refined fuel due to our considerable excess refining capacity?

What planet do you live on?

No, I explained to you why the export increase, which was partially due to our weak economy...

The drop was caused partially by the recession but also by the advent of more fuel efficient vehicles, higher prices and the greater use of ethanol as an ingredient in gasoline.

LMFAO!  You explained to me

Maybe you should have read the entire article: "But now the country's massive refining infrastructure is producing more gasoline, diesel and jet fuel than the United States needs, freeing it up to be exported to places like Brazil, Mexico and Chile where demand is still strong."

And just an FYI, the laws of supply and demand are such that prices decrease with demand, not increase.  Gas prices dropped at the end of Bush's tenure because he fucked up the economy so badly that no one could afford it.

Okay, when the price goes up.....the demand goes down.  The economy has gotten the best of Americans.....they are driving less..we also had a very mild winter....which further added to the need to export..fuel that we had refined.

What we need are MORE refineries located more strategically ...have you noticed stations closer to the Gulf of Mexico, where many oil refineries are located, have lower gas prices due to lower transportation costs.

The more I have read today, the more I am convinced that Obama and the liberals are getting their way by an aggressive green agenda...they want to FORCE Americans to buy Chevy Volts....they are giving tax dollars to bankrupt companies like Solyndra and Fisker to TRY to force solar products down the throats of Americans.....when the market and technology is NOT ready for it.

Holy hell. . . If there are more like you out there this country is in very serious trouble. . .

Who owns General Motors?

Why are Americans buying efficient vehicles again?

Are we supposed to hide our heads in the sand oil and hope technology automagically progresses within a time line that will support its arrival at the exact time we deplete all American owned oil sources?

I must have missed where American citizens were given a mandate to switch over to solar power. When did that happen?

Is sitting ignorantly complacent along the side-lines, hooked up to our petro IV's while the rest of the world develops alternative technology the right thing to do? If so, where's the advantage it provides when those countries will essentially have us in the same position oil has today, and we are out?

When did America become a nation happy to sit on its rear-end and watch the rest of the world leave it behind? Did that happen on 9/11?

I'm going to just say it...and I know YOU guys will jump all over with your almighty wit...but, this is NOT that complicated, and it is like you can't see beyond your nose.....
Obama is taking us for a ride, at the taxpayers expense....spending trillions...driving us further and further in debt..... Giving money to Solar powered companies...and then they go bankrupt.  Bailing out GM, to force Chevy Volts on us...and coupling that with getting gas up so high that people will second think it...but it still is not working.  Trying to force a Health Care Bill, that nobody knew what was in it, but it cost us 1.7 TRILLION fucking dollars...and Americans DO not want it....yet, they forced it through....Forcing Catholic business to supply birth control....Americans don't want it!
Force is all he knows how to do....yet you blame Republicans for stopping "progress" when they say NO!!!!!
Wake the fuck up....YOU all ridicule me, and have for years.  It don't bother me or I would have left years ago....I will not back down from the TRUTH!!!

It is YOU guys who are spinning things............things are what they are.

My only problem is I am not good at explaining things to people who already have their minds made up on issues.
