In your world one can say whatever they please about whomever they please, with no societal ramifications; unless it personally impacts you. Then it is a different story.

To me this is an issue of morality; a personal system of values and principles of conduct. And if I have to explain that to you then you wouldn't understand. That other military vets may hold an opinion opposite mine is of no surprise to me. However, they earned the right to hold that position via their service, and I can respect that.

Isn't it bad enough that these men and women are more often than not, utilized as pawns within a political game of deceit, while they personally aspire to achieve some level of nobility and philanthropy via their service?

And comparing a "joke" about any political entity to one that sullies the reputation of any branch of the military is ludicrous. Politicians earn their abuse every day, while only those military personnel who conduct themselves outside of the traditions and code of honor inherent to the career should be subject to it.

It's in bad taste, so get over it yourself. I earned the right to hold that perspective, and that I will do with extreme prejudice. You do not have to like it or agree with it.

Your perspective is that you're offended so be it.  Well, my perspective on the jokes everyone put on here about conservatives is that they were offensive and ya'll didn't care so, like I said, tit for tat.  Some were even more tasteless and offensive than that one happens to be and you know it.  My thoughts on the whole thing is ya'll can dish it out but can't take it.  HH it's in their programing, liberals have a right to whatever they choose about a conservative but conservatives don't dare say anything against a liberal or they're horrid people.  The old double standard ya know.

I received it from an email by a marine, who was a Vietnam Vet who flew helicopters, who despises our Commander-in-Chief.  I found it to be funny. 

I don't like our POTUS.  I think he is BAD for our country.  That is MY opinion.  I find you calling MY Savior Jesus...Jeebus a little offensive, but that is just you.  I'm okay with that.

The joke in no way negatively impacted me nor did your response to it it's the double standard that impacts me.  Did you ever stop to think it may be the other way around too?  From a conservative point of view liberals deserve the same.  No, it didn't because of the short sightedness of liberals.  People are different and always will look at the same thing differently but it seems like liberals are intolerant of anyone who has a different opinion from them.  Most times a conservative will just ignore but a liberal will bash you in the head with it by putting you down, name calling, or calling for your head on a chopping block.
