One thing that people should learn is, you can not trust government to come to your aid in a timely manner.  People who paid for flood insurance still have not been paid.  Your trust must be placed in God, and not the feds.  Here in WV the mess we had in June and Oct, the feds were of no help, we did for ourselves.

When the dems passed that bill they knew damn well what was going to happen and sure enough it did.  Boehner fell for their trap and stood his ground.  He should have let it pass and explained it was against his better judgement because of the pork included and let the chips fall where they may.  He could have also taken the pork spending out, passed the bill and put it back on the dems who, I believe, had already left town.

He did the right thing.........it is only going to delay everything less than 2 weeks......and he sent a message....to leave out the pork.  Get the people their money that is needed, to those who suffered from the Hurricane.  Besides, whatever happened to posting all bills on the internet for five days before they were to be passed?

Funny, you clowns didn't seem to have any issues with pork-barrel spending when the Republicans do it.  Hypocrites much?

I have always had a problem with "pork" in the bills.  Both parties are guilty.  But with 16 plus trillion debt it is going to have to stop.  You are going to have to give up your free obama phone, and all the other goodies.

I think that was another one of those "Obama" lies.

I probably pay more in taxes than you make so I don't need an Obama phone (which, btw, was actually a program started by Bush but why worry about facts).

How about you give up your exemptions for your dependents?  Why should I have to subsidize your breeding?

There is no way for you to know, what I pay and how many dependents I have.  Typical liberal dish it out but can not take it. ;D ;D ;D.  Fact is the spending has to stop no matter who does it.  The party is over.

So tell us because as I said the other day, people like you only want the spending to stop that doesn't benefit them.

One might have had an argument for the yet unknown while supporting a Bush presidency in 2000 or to a lesser extent in 2004 but given the value of hindsight, anyone who would even suggest that this man was anything other than a complete and utter failure is an idiot who should not be allowed to vote.

I think given the alternatives that we had to vote (Gore and Kerry)...I STILL feel that Bush could NOT have done any worse than if THEY was running things....

I will 100% admit, that I have not agreed with several things that Bush did. My point IS, that unders these harsh times, I don't think there would have been anybody, that would have made things much better than they are....and I know this is just MY OWN speculation.

I think that congress as a whole...has been a failure...NOT just the presidency....

Oh and Henry, this wasn't the largest protest. You just didn't notice because it wasn't staged by "real" people.  The difference is when they did it the right-wing conservatives labeled them "anti-American".  I replied:  Re: Congress sucks...

Sandy...I never SAID it was the largest protest..............but, I think it is going to GET real big, very soon.

and this should not be a left vs. right issue....it is simply for anybody TIRED of Washington spending the living crap out of our TAX DOLLARS....and before you guys jump on me....I have always said BUSH was one of the BIGGEST spending Presidents ever....and that goes for the Republican Controlled Congress back then....

I honestly am sick of ALL of them...repubs and dems....who has went to washington to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND....in astronomical proportions.

It has GOT to stop!!...and the people are starting to revolt.

GOP-led House will vote Friday on $9 billion in flood insurance for states ravaged by Superstorm Sandy. More action on emergency relief aid, which is expected to total about $60 billion, has been scheduled for Jan. 15.

Coming along after the fact and claiming that you didn't agree with Bush's spending doesn't cut it.  I'm looking for the 2005 posts in which you bitched about the Republican president, House and Senate passing a highway bill with tens of billions of dollars in pork and over 6,000 earmarks.

I wasn't even HERE in 2005...and I made it quite clear, I was and always HAVE been agains pork barrel spending.  I can careless WHO is in OFFICE.  It may have not as been as much of an issue back then because our economy was running smooth then.......unemployement was below 5%.

But, you cannot deny, we are wrong as a Country, when we spend more than we bring in.....
