The inheritance tax is bullshit anyway.  There government has nor right to take part of someone's life savings when they die when they've already paid income tax on that money once.

As you know the main person you're talking about isn't going to take it with them.  I know that my sisters and I paid out estate taxes on my dad's money when he died.  It really didn't amount to a whole lot and we didn't bitch about it.

But when millionaires like Jim Irsay dies his heirs are going to make out like bandits on his money and his Colts.  Just like Jim baby did when his dad died.

Like I said, the rich get richer and they don't have to work for it.   And they made it in America and from American people.  It's just a little tax on all the money the dead people made in America while they were living and enjoying the life their money gave them.   :dead:  :dead:

I got a question for you people here on the Zone.  How many of you want to go to WAR against Iran?

damfast

if we do that we should be real serious about it.

give em 10 days to exit the country. then blow it up, oil and all.  you stay you pay.
is that liberaL?  oh well, i dont care.
and refuse to help rebuild it again.  i think i am ambivalent about all the people who leave to avoid it, they hate americans anyway.

take away their towels.

its all a plan you know, we are leaving one place, but alas we must send them to another right down the road. political garbage.
that whole war against terrorism has been a fword up anyway.  reminds me of Don Quioxte (spelling). We are attacking windmills and losing.
gimme a shot at those army games.  i dont give a fiddle about politics, but i do like to win...
then give the bleeding hearts here a swift kick in the pants, and splain to them that we are drilling in our own territory for oil to provide for our own  needs.  They wanna save a bear, dolphin, whale, seal, elm tree, go get it and take it home with em.
so there.

IIRC, the origins of the Inheritance Tax are on order with laws against Perpetual Annuities, to keep all the money from flowing to the few and being kept there.

Of course, those laws have been subverted so the select few with the money for high priced attorneys, accountants, and tax shelters can mainly avoid those taxes.

Like all the rest of the wars/conflicts America has engaged in since WWII, there is no Constitutional basis for any war with Iran.

Gosh, don't hold back your opinion, Damfast  :) Just kidding. I suspect quite a few people feel the same way.

We haven't been serious about a war since WWII, just throw the military in and then tie their hands so they can never win.

what the HELL kind of question is this?  Do you REALLY think Americans WANT to go to war?  I think this is such a democrat belief that republicans WANT war...that is so much bull shit.

I do think that PEACE through STRENGTH is STILL very prevalent...I think we MUST keep a strong military presence in that region if we do NOT want to pay $5 or $6 for a gallon of gas.  If we do NOT want Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to obtain a nuclear weapon.

I think we can achieve this without going to war...but by strength.

C'mom Henery,  You know darn well that strength only works when you use it.  Just what would happen if Iran got the atom bomb.  They say the Jews have over 300 atomic bombs and we only have 9,996 atomic bombs.

What does Iran want to do, GLOW for a thousands years.

Anne

I think there are some who don't care if they "glow" for a thousand years. They think Allah will protect them (so they say). I don't know anyone who wants to go to war, I know lots of people who are willing to defend this country. Two different things. I listened to President Obama's speech about cutting the number of Army and Marine forces. I wonder what he will do with the Navy and Air Force. I haven't checked for awhile but the last time I did the Navy had the smallest number of ships and boats since the 1930s.

Perhaps you should do more research then form an opinion.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

This is off topic, but then again, so is a discussion of US Naval fleet sizes on this thread.  ;D

This is an interesting article about the US Navy rescuing an Iranian ship and its crew which were being held hostage by pirates.  It's just an interesting juxtaposition given Iran's current saber rattling.

The rag head leaders care about dieing.  But times have change, we don't need the same number of ships as we had in World War II.  For one we don't need the big battle ships and the big cruisers and so many other ships we used then.

With the new automated gun and rocket ships,  guided missile ships and America with the largest fleet of Atomic powered submarines.  I'm quite sure we can take care of ourselves.  We have grown weak from the drain of wars and military expenses. But as you say.  :music1: Onward Christian soldiers, marching off to war. :music1:  War and god makes your whole world.

I asked a question, not the same as stating an opinion.
